Part of me wonders if these "must save" moral missions are giving them what they might like - loads of people scrambling to the phones.

If Vicky is gonna be booted and booed out the house as the one who did wrong then very regrettable but so be it.

It's telling how Carol is not prepared to take either Louie or Vicky on. Sometimes a pick your battles approach is justified, but I think in this case it's just plain old cowardice.
