Just been looking back at some releases of the past 9 months and looking ahead to the next 3 months and its been a bumper year for music. Will it be remembered as a 'classic' year though?

Some releases from big names in 2013:

Lady Gaga
Katy Perry
Britney
David Bowie
Cher
Rod Stewart
Kanye West
Jay-Z
Eminem
Arctic Monkeys
And the list goes on....

A lot of big names releasing albums but I haven't really loved any of them.

My favourite projects have come from new or underground artists. It's been good, though.

2012 was better for tracks, but 2013 is better for albums, so I'm happy enough.

Infinitely better than last year's dire releases.

I pretty much stopped listening to the radio this year and no longer watch music channels. that says a lot for me.

one thing I do love about this year though is that the list of #1 singles is DRASTICALLY better. There've only been four I don't like (One Direction's OWOA, PJ and Duncan, Will.I.AM/Britney and Ellie Goulding).

Ellie Goulding has had the best song of 2013 with Burn. I am looking forward to Jessie J's album though

Swim Deep & Peace

Ellie Goulding's "Burn" being a massive hit!

New material by Hurts, YYYs and Foals, although havnt listened to their full albums just yet.

The Courteeners' "ANNA" also pretty great.

Worst: Robin Thicke.

um excuse me

BANGERZ?

As amazing as it's inevitably going to be, might wait for it to actually be released before calling it a highlight

I have enjoyed the likes of Disclosure, AlunaGeorge, Daughter, Daft Punk etc. Just listening to the recently released Satellites.02 (follow up to last year's 01) which is quite impressive. Looking forward to the Foetus release "SOAK" next month. It's not been too bad a year for albums. No. 1 singles seem to have had good sales this year too.
