Hello *waves* not as many people on here know me as they used to but I booked a one way flight to London on Sunday with my bestie and we're going to be sleeping on various friend's floors and job hunting. I've wanted to live in London nearly my whole life and well to say I'm terrified is a bit of an understatement.
Twas wondering if anyone had any advice on how to get a job, where to start looking, how best to do a job interview, how to get a house share or even things like how to live cheap. I know a lot of you are much wiser and tuned into reality than me so any help/advice would be very very much apperciated.
I'm looking for stuff like retail or admin, my ideal would be in publishing or journalism but I'll take pretty much anything and I have no specific areas(though central would be good)
And if anyone knows of anyone with a job going in London that would be great too :p

First things first, get your National Insurance number sorted, what part of London are you moving to? Where ever you are log on to the local council website and search the jobs section as you may be able to pick up some part time work to start you off. Newsagents/Supermarkets will have cards in window re house/flat share, stick with the friends floors until you acclimatise though. Good luck.

Re work - for admin type jobs register with agencies. Make sure your CV looks good and is concise. A lot of interviews now are competency based so you need to make sure you are prepared for those types of questions. As its coming up to Christmas I would imagine there will be loads of temporary retail positions around, print off loads of CVs and get round the shops handing them in. You can always register with more specialised agencies for journalism and maybe write to some firms asking about internships and offer a free work trial etc etc.....I work in recruitment so if you need any tips on interview techniques I can PM you some info if you need any?
Most of all - have fun and good luck.
