Something to do with the council being tight bastards

That's a bit dangerous.

On the one hand it's good for criminals but on the other hand they have no clue where they're going so it's pointless

Also when the moon's out it provides a nice blueish-light and it's really cool

No it would be pitch black because we are surrounded by fields and woods.

Yes, but then the biggest scandal that has happened around here in the last ten years was when the local tramp nicked the school milk so they aren't that necessary

No....but I wish they did. There is one opposite my bedroom window which blinds me so I have to thick Curtis and keep them shut even when it's roasting so the windows open does bugger all.....

Think I'll write to the council and ask them to switch them off.

Marc

I don't know. I will make a conscious effort to stay by my window and watch for them to turn off

You need to Get Up To Date
after 12 midnight its wasted energy
Money has to be saved
or roads will get worse

King Gizzard

wouldn't really be a waste of energy or money if during the day they all had solar panels on the top of them

I don't have streetlights where I live. Once the sun goes down it's just dark... I like it. And despite being a townie, I've managed not to wander into, or fall over anything. The best thing about having no street lights is that I get an amazing view of the stars.

I found we did not have lamp posts in my street (mews).

I have not got a chance to go out late at night yet (I recently moved in to this area.) so I can't be sure, but I saw lights from my upstairs bedroom, between trees - far away - like motorway cats eyes.

It means I think main streets' lights are still on after midnight.

What the hell?!?

They better not do this near me. I don't think there's enough street lights as there is and I don't sometimes get in till 4/5 AM on a night. (I don't like the dark. :bawling:)
Plus what about poor girls doing the walk-of-shame?!?

Ours stay on.

We have also had litter pickers 3 days in a row including Sunday...we must be getting some posh V.I.Ps coming into town.
