"Coming from a figure so central to Mr Brown’s
political operation, the book will hugely
embarrass Ed Miliband and Ed Balls,
the former prime minister’s two closest allies.
The pair were in constant contact with Mr McBride,
raising urgent questions over what they
knew of his brutal tactics.
The memoir will send shockwaves through
the Labour party ahead of next week’s annual conference."

Bit old hat as to news really.
Didn't we all know there was great friction between Brown and Blair, wasn't there loads of that word as to 'bullying' nonsense as to Gordon Brown in his last years as PM also as to Ministers then too.
Haven't we also had this before when the Conservatives cowardly plotted against Margaret Thatcher before forcing her to, for want of a better word, 'abdicate' as PM and leader of the party.
Politics is a cold and often cruel place, you need to constantly watch your backs no matter what your status may be at any given time.

This is already a boring story in my opinion, politics is a dirty business at times and can get really nasty indeed.
Most people knew the division between Blair and Brown, Blair was really in effect 'gently' forced to quit as PM to let Brown take his place.
Brown was worried he was going to miss his chance.
Naturally leading figures in the party will have known all that was going on, as is the case in other parties too.
At the time few,if any, do or say anything about it either.
Ed Miliband also likely has indeed a ruthless side and you need to have one to get on in politics anyway.
Someone who saw his Brother stand for the leadership and even though knowing he really wanted that leadership of the party, to then stand yourself against him shows a ruthless and ambitious side.
I just find this story a sort of amusing sideshow as to the past but neither Blair or Brown are there now.
A new leadership is in place and politics moves quickly on anyway.
It is actually a pity that David Cameron doesn't have some with a more ruthless edge to them actually, to deal with those in his own party who threaten his weak parliamentary position and help undermine his leadership a lot of the time.
There are some just waiting for him to lose again in 2015 and then he will have to go rapidly or he will be unceremoniously got rid of as others have been.
I don't see that this story has legs to carry it very far, what the vast majority of voters see and think as to Politicians is not likely very admirable and most have little respect,if any even, for Politicians,at the top or at the bottom in any event.

I have the feeling this is sour grapes, he aided Gorden Brown to the top and was rewarded with the sack.
he is greasy little man, but I suspect every successful political candidate has one... from all parties.

The more I see and hear of this man on TV the more I just think he is idiotic.
I never saw this story having legs, I felt it would be more of a sour grapes issue and it seems he got what he deserved when he was found out what he was doing.
Good riddance and it is a pity anyone gives him any publicity never mind pays him for it.
