Came across this and thought it was worth a thread. Someone who admits to having feelings for young girls, but has never acted on them...

I'd say the large majority of people who are attracted to children are in this position, it's just the media like to blow things out of proportion and so as a result as a society we aren't actually able to look into this in depth and have a proper discussion about it because let's be honest, if you are to speak up in what is effectively a defence of a paedophile, you'd be looked at as a freak and it just makes you look suspicious
Being attracted to children doesn't mean that person is going to act on their urges, because regardless of who their victim is it's a sex crime, and to commit one of those against anyone means you have to not be totally right in the head. I've read stuff like this before and part of me feels sad for them because it really can't be easy knowing you're attracted to something you shouldn't be and you can't do anything about it, yet you have to spend your life resisting urges that for the majority of people they don't have to, it really can't be easy

That's pretty brave of them. Interesting that he says it's more of a fetish than an exclusive thing.
It must be difficult. I can't imagine having an attraction that's as... well, taboo, let alone illegal, as that.
This was a good post
An average man walking down the street would eventually see an attractive women who he would like to have sex with right then and there, but doesn't because then he would be a rapist and rapists are assholes. Being sexually attracted to a woman occurs regardless of her consent. It can't be helped. It's the same with this pedo guy, except with loli. I don't think he's doing anything wrong morally or otherwise.
Human sexuality is a strange thing, it's primal, irrational, and it doesn't follow the conventions of civil society. I don't think people are morally responsible for their sexual fetishes, but I do think people have a responsibility as members of society to consider others rather than act on whatever urges they may have. When you think about it, that's really one of the main functions of society.
*just noticed this was 2 years ago LOL*

I actually agree with you.
I remember when I was started becoming attracted to guys and was ****ing horrified, it was awful and hard to come to terms with but the thought of someone living a happy life then realising they are attracted to children then their life is pretty much over.
That person can never be them trueselves whilst thank god I can.
I can talk to my family and friends about my sexuality and celebrate it.
A paedo will never be happy, never be content and never find true love.
I would rather be put to sleep than live a life where you have to lie to everyone you know, mentally castrate yourself and fight your sexual urges everyday.
Being a teen and getting urges for guys is disturbing enough but atleast eventually you can act on those urges whilst a peado has to live with blue balls their entire life.
People say sex isn't important but I ****ing love sex and my life wouldn't be half as enjoyable without it.

I have always believed paedophilia is a mental disease. If you start getting those thoughts, please seek help before it's too late.:nono:
Actually is there such help!! They need to start thinking of some ways

This is a really good post, I'd never really given much thought to what paedophiles go through mentally before, mostly because whenever you hear about paedophiles your sympathy lies with the victim of one and not with the person who committed the crime... but what about paedophiles who have never (yet) committed a crime? They just live in agony every day knowing that what they want is totally wrong but they can't control it...

I don't waste much time agonizing over the plight of paedophiles, as long as they don't act on their urges that's fine.
There may be a support group or something, I guess it wouldn't be that widely advertised?
We do only hear of 'predatory' types which I suppose is why there is so much fear surrounding them.

Reminds me of Broadchurch, the pedo who hadn't actually acted on his urges. Quite a controversial topic for some.

It's a very difficult subject, it's hard to be sympathetic towards them but the guilt of simply existing must be tough to bare.
