To me this looks like Steam were trying too hard to be groundbreaking, and didn't take into account people's muscle memory. I mean the traditional game controller has been around 20 years, buttons on the right, directionals on the left, to try and change it seems pointless.

This is a Valve product though, they wouldn't release it unless they knew it worked. They've been trying to perfect this for 4 years, and I'm really excited to try it.

You got to remember though that PC gaming is different to console gaming. A controller with trackpads instead of buttons make more sense as it's a closer experience to using a mouse.

Only thing I'm surprised about is the lack of "Biometrics" in the controller, they were really into those a while back.
