You dont have to play with friends all the time, if they're not online, you will be put in a world with other players.

i follow some guy on twitter who went to America to play it.. he said the cheapest property to buy was around $80,000 so im guessing that was probably some wooden shack or something.. would be cool if some of the cars didnt appear on the game and you actually have to buy them

there's an estate agent you meet randomly (I think I did as Trevor) who asks you to sabotage 15 rival estate agent's signs, so that might be why there're so many

This is utter garbage if so many people cant even get online. Sorry but you cant launch something when it clearly isnt ready. This would have been ideal for a beta test but Rockstar are so up there own arses about secrecy and no one seeing it till launch that we have this joke scenario. Not good enough IMO

I created my character, and I get to meet Lamar and go through the online clips, and the second i get in my car it returns me to story & then when I press online again it says 'character corrupted' and I have to make another character again, this happens over & over.

A few notes

- You can sell vehicles in the Los Santos Customs shops, but you cant sell them one after another
- Watch out when exiting a shop, sometimes dickheads camp the exits
- Cops will come after you in a stolen car, get it resprayed if you want to keep it.

On the PS3 they've fixed two of the error's not allowing me & all other users too play (" cloud servers corrupted" and "cannot host game" & characters no longer get deleted), but now the game freezes on the first race loading screen over & over again

Once you get passed that first race, the game works like a dream, its a shame they made the race mandatory.

Mixed feelings regarding this... I've been doing a couple of jobs and it's great fun... when it works.

I'm a bit pissed off though, they've got a feature where people can be sidelined as "bad sports" for killing other players for no reason, or "leaving" games... um... it's a bit ****ing hard not to leave when every time I try to join, the servers cock up. So if I get a bad reputation for that I'm going to be a bit pissed off.

I also got a warning for trying to host a game and, when nobody joined, I tried to quit it and got the same message. Bad sport my ****ing ass.

Also I got kicked from a session for seemingly no reason :/

Meh, its the same as every other large online game in existance (Diablo 3, Sim City, FFXIV: ARR, WoW ect.) It'll subside in a few days.

connection's been 95% great today... still getting used to the variety of things to do, and it's still a bit annoyingly slow when you have to wait for people to join every mission/deathmatch/race... but it's a really fun addition, and easily more fun than the actual story mode.

Online is amazing now that the patch has sorted any problems I had. Sucks that most missions are only 4 player at the moment though. Got 50k, but torn between buying a garage or saving up for an apartment.

online races work for me.. you get between $2,000-$6,000 every race if you can come in the top 3/4.. also selling cars, if you can find the right ones you can get up to $10,000 for them

do loads of races, they pay out a lot more than missions (unless you're at a level higher than 10) and deathmatches (although DMs are way more fun)

I make most my money just doing missions for Gerald and Simeon with friends. We each get about 5k each one. If a friend gets a mission text he just invites the rest and we keep doing it. Not really a fan of racing.

Make up from a stylist. If your "Illegal activity" is High for your character then it takes longer for bruises to fade.

How does it work ... btw? I get that you end up in the same "world" as your friends when playing them but say you buy a house ... what if you end up in a world where that house is also owned by some randomer who bought it on his end?

I know I probably sound ridiculously naïve but I aint followed the build up to this at all and in all likelihood I will be the one receiving the merkings.

Anyway I'm back on Xbox for the first time in ageees. Normally a PS3 player but **** happens. I assume GTs are in the thread so I'll scour and chuck out mine once I'm on this bitch.

I kinda wish GTA Online had been more like RDR/IV's multiplayer, at the moment it plays like a crappy MMO, you can no longer have mindless fun without burning through your hard earned money in the game, well, unless of course, you buy the GTA bucks. Oh, and apparently your stats decrease if you arent online often enough. GTA V and Online have been kind of a disappointment IMO. Rockstar seem to have given in to the whole mini DLC microtransaction crowd with Activision and EA.

the Railyard and Boneyard ones used to be really easy too until they removed the skips to hide in and made everyone disappear if you go on the roof now :(

and apparently it extends if you quit someone's mission/deathmatch/survival, even though there're STILL about 50 different glitches for all of those, and I was just in an instance where the host would keep restarting a mission and not give me the opportunity to leave.

weird glitch going about tonight...

I was in a deathmatch with 15 other people including Mr. Purdy and I realised there was this player who was on "Level 1000" :o And when it ended (very quickly, it was a 'normal' deathmatch :p) this player got something like $15bn in earnings from the match.

So I was like OK, cool, whatever, and parted ways with Purdy... and then when I was placing a bet on another game, I realised my bank balance (usually only about $300k) was now at $217m.

And it's still there. Just bought a tank, attack chopper, couple of sports cars... not even put a dent in it :/

Wonder if it'll get taken away... because I've legit. no idea how I got it.

Yeah when I left the first deathmatch that was taking ages to get players I had a bounty of £200m set on me, some guy was on mic saying he'd kill me and then split it 50/50 so I let him and he actually did.. so £100m in the bank.

• Increased the cash and RP rewards for Races with multiple laps.
• Cash payouts for Parachuting now take points scored into account.
