Poundland to open 500 new UK stores
and expand into mainland Europe

"Poundland is aiming for 1,000 stores
in the UK and is planning to take its
Dealz chain into Europe in the next
18 months after recording a 21% leap
in pre-tax profits.
The discount retailer, which is chaired
by former Tesco finance director Andrew Higginson
and has nearly 500 stores, is likely to head
for a London flotation next year in the wake
of a strong 15% rise in sales to £880m."

Fantastic news, what the high streets of South Yorkshire need are more pound lands. All we need now is for Gregg's to buy a few more stores and they can share the town centres 50/50.

It's a good time for expansion with all the free labour that will be available to them from next April.

I wouldn't know about those. But the brand is inferior and after calling an electrician to what I thought was a power surge he said he had seen this prob a lot with pound shop bulbs.
