'League of Gentlemen' reunion teased by Reece Shearsmith

Reece Shearsmith has teased that a League of Gentlemen reunion may be in the works.

The BBC Two comedy's co-creator tweeted a photo of himself with Mark Gatiss and Steve Pemberton, hinting that he has been working with the pair.

When asked by fans about the extra hand on Sherlock co-creator Mark Gatiss's shoulder, he joked: "So much genuine bafflement at the extra hand on Marks shoulder in that pic. Like it wasn't deliberate. Come ON people!! My blood pressure!"

The League of Gentlemen ran for three TV series from 1999 to 2002 following the 1997 radio series, and spawned several live shows and the 2005 movie The League of Gentlemen's Apocalypse.

Shearsmith and Pemberton have since collaborated on BBC Two's Psychoville series, while they have also reunited for the upcoming comedy Inside No. 9 with Gemma Arterton.

All three have worked together for a number of sketches for CBBC show Horrible Histories.

A new series of The League of Gentlemen has long been rumoured by fans since 2007, with the stars stating last year that they expect the group to "reconvene" in the near future.

The comedians clarified that they never officially "split up" after the show ended, adding that they would happily join with fourth member Jeremy Dyson for a new project.

This was one of my favourite comedies, but I wonder if a new series would live up to the original?

It didn't work as well as the first 2 but I loved it overall (it had some brilliant moments <3) The episode with the guy who had one arm was a flop though

It's been so long since I watched it I just remember being a bit bored during that one, I've got the boxset so I'm tempted to watch them all again though. 'The Lesbian and The Monkey' and 'The Medusa Touch' were the standouts though :love:

My mum owned a caravan pretty much in the middle of nowhere, and about 10 minutes walk away there was a little white building that just had "LOCAL SHOP" painted on the side in big black letters ... :umm2:. Never risked going in tbh.

classic update but if you are too young to have seen the original and undrstand why it is what it is and how influential it was i dont think you would get much from this in isolation
