View Full Version : Should there be a Woodstock '14/'19?
Just asking because I was just curious to see if there was anymore woodstocks after 1969, which there was, but the last proper one was in 1999, and it didn't have the feeling of Woodstock '94 or before as there was fire, violence and Rape.
Should there be one next year or 2019? Or do you think 1999 has ruined the Woodstock legacy?

there was only one Woodstock imo
Whilst Glastonbury has managed to both modernize and still keep some of it's new age, lawless trappings ... Woodstock is so far gone that any relaunch would just descend into a mental parody complete with the country's leading papers penning articles about hipster kids paying exuberant prices for authentic hippy gear.
Then someone would neck too many dodgy pills and "kill the spirit" of something forever. Or something like that.
Let it rest in peace. We gotta protect those fences man [watch the DVD].

Ehh I don't see the point, and it wouldn't work because what makes the original Woodstock so notable is the fact that it was unplanned and worked against all odds. Plus from what I can gather the original was vastly overrated and paled in comparison to other big festivals of the time like Monterey Pop and Festival Express.
