Caroline Flack to co-host the live shows

Caroline Flack will appear on The X Factor 2013 live shows this year as a new presenter, it’s been claimed.

The Xtra Factor host will be taking up a new role on the main show on Saturday nights, chatting the contestants before and after their performances.

But Caroline won’t become Dermot’s co-host just yet, with producers keen to avoid a duel hosting format similar to that of BBC One’s The Voice UK.

Even if Caroline’s role does sound no different to what Reggie Yates was doing on The Voice this year.

“Caroline will be doing links with the contestants before they go on stage and when they come off,” a source told The Sun newspaper. “She’s not going to be presenting side-by-side with Dermot a lot as bosses don’t want it falling into the same format as The Voice.”

Caroline will still continue to host the Xtra Factor, which this year saw her joined by new co-host Matt Richarson, over on ITV2 every Saturday and Sunday night straight after the main show.

More information about Caroline’s new role is expected to be confirmed this evening, when The X Factor continues at 8PM on ITV.

The live shows have always been the most slickly produced part of the show, don't go ruining them :bored:

I like Caroline, but this does sound like a terrible ides, like they're trying to combine what The Voice and Big Brother have done: The spin-off presenter becoming part of the main show interviewing the contestants.

The dances are hilarious but the other thing wasn't really his fault, that's up to the producers to direct him to ask again. They knew what they wanted to happen, he just had to follow orders

I love Caroline too but this just isn't necessary, it sounds as if they're trying to steal The Voice's idea and Reggie's segments were always pointless. The live shows on X Factor have always been the best produced part of any talent show in this country IMO, they don't need changing
