In another thread > http://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/showthread.php?t=238726 < Cuda tells how he saved a horse's life by his actions, reminded me that about 3 weeks ago I saved the life a a house sparrow which somehow had got a long piece of thread wound around one of its legs. The thread had become entangled on a tree branch and the sparrow had no chance of getting free, fortunately it was only about 6 feet up so I was able to grab it and break the thread and then cut the thread free from the leg.

Any other "rescue" tales to tell?

Ah I thought so, well I do hope that the cat was appreciative of your heroic efforts

Should have just filmed the fight, a cat taking on an adder is a pretty rare sight

What's an adder?

The only native poisonous snake in the UK, Ireland hasn't got any indigenous snakes!

Oh yeah, I also have a pet goose because one pf my geese abandoned their nest, and he was the last egg and was shaking. there was a tiny hole with its tiny beak poking through and my mum had to crack the egg carefully and the reason he didn't had properly is because his umbulical cord was wrapped around his leg. He grew up in our house and his leg was funny but he finally learnt how to walk.. numerous times. He liked to sit on your lap, and everything! He lives in the garden now, not our goose field, and he always comes up to our door :amazed:

There were 2 of them, was quite surreal seeing a cat attacking 1 of them

It was an Adder, not a Python! and if it had its eye on breakfast , well you know the old saying!
