Louis has "ditched" Nick and joined the Luke camp. Not sure how I feel about this. Nick fitted into Louis' bland old school idea of what worked in 1998, but the music world has changed.

Louis has finally twigged that Luke is actually more marketable, despite being less conventional. Louis has seen Mumsford & Sons global album sales and has blatantly switched allegiance. He has also realised neither lad will beat mumsy bland Bailey so is backing Luke as the act who will outsell Sam b regardless. So fickle.

Even if he does hit the bottom 2, I genuinely can't see them saving Tamera over him, and in my opinion she's the most likely to be the other one in the bottom 2. She's messed up so many times and is blatantly not ready for a career - she might be in a few years but not now.

I come sharing some stats! I love love LOVE Luke. I actually think, at least online, he's picked up almost all of Tamera's votes (along with some converts). He's suddenly surging in polls where Sam Bailey used to be miles ahead. For example, Tellymix's poll. I looked up the top 5 poll (http://tellymix.co.uk/reality-tv/the-x-factor/168006-x-factor-2013-sam-bailey-is-once-again-the-tellymix-favourite-can-anyone-beat-her.html), where Luke is 3rd with 18% of the vote and Sam B 1st with 35%. Fast forward a week, and out of NOWHERE Luke jumps to 35% of the vote, only 2% behind Sam B. That jump is dramatic as hell, who the eff suddenly explodes in the vote like that where everybody else pretty much stays the same? This week on the Digital Spy forums he has 45% of the vote to Sam's 35%, last week he had 27% to Sam's 32% and Tamera's 19%. This forum is much, MUCH smaller but the poll here also does demonstrate a similar surge in votes for Luke (~28% to ~56%, with Tamera having ~35% last week). Notice how each surge in each poll takes a huge chunk of Tamera's votes. It can't be a coincidence.

For this momentum to carry him into the final, he's going to need to be great next week, though. Ensure all these new fans that he's the right pick to be their favourite. I just worry about the Elton song because we saw what happened last time he took on Elton...:nono:

Lastly, the singoff next week. It's strange, and I don't like it. My speculation is that Nicholas actually shockingly did end up somewhat close to B2 last week, and they think they have a chance of getting him into the B2 this week, where they can vote him out. Yeah, the Beyonce choice is extremely strange. It makes me think he picked that song with a cool arrangement already in mind, perhaps he covered it in the past or something. He was on This Morning and said he'll be dancing about during it, weird. "Best Thing I Never Had" actually charted higher than "Halo" in the UK oddly enough. :laugh:

And then there's a picture on FB from rehearsals of him with his guitar so I imagine he'll have his guitar for the Elton song. And for what it's worth, this (https://twitter.com/simonkaston) guy was at rehearsals and singled out Luke as being incredible.

My partner has given me some more information about his musical encounters with Luke at 6 years old.

Apparently, he was writing his own songs even then and playing guitar with them....

There was some interest from the music business and some genuine amazement at his talent. The music scouts could see then his future potential as a musician but it was decided that he was too young . They were looking forward to seeing him again ten years later.......so now they have courtesy of X Factor...xx

X Factor 2013: Luke Friend’s dad is glad his son didn’t win because “He won’t be moulded into something he isn’t!”

X Factor finalist Luke Friend left this year’s contest in third place, and of course, as fans of the show will know, Nicholas McDonald became runner-up when Sam Bailey won…
However, Luke’s dad Steve has revealed that he’s glad his gifted son didn’t win, and has stated that that means Luke won’t be “moulded into something he isn’t.”

That would be amazing, but they usually put a couple of covers in all debut albums. This was my favourite one. :)

If they put any covers on the album then Skinny Love would be my pick as well as it was the performance of the series imo, how he hit the bottom two after that performance is still a mystery to me.

Yeah. Skinny Love and Kiss from a rose really stand out. I think they would sound the best in a new album. :lovedup:

Kiss From A Rose was great as well, but then that's my favourite song that Luke ever took on anyway as it just hits everything Music should do in one go, and I think Luke recaptured that quite well while adding his own spin to it.
