BBC One is to launch a new +1 channel.

Director General Tony Hall today (October 8) announced plans to debut an accompaniment to Britain's most-watched channel.

"Any plan for channels starts with BBC One," said Hall. "Above all, BBC One needs to be on top form. It has to be the nation's favourite channel, but also its bravest.

"We'll also look to launch a BBC One +1 channel, too – it's what audiences expect, especially younger ones, and it means people can get more of what they've already paid for."

BBC One controller Charlotte Moore described the announcement as "brilliant news for BBC One viewers".

"It means the content we pay for delivers even more value for audiences," said Moore. "In a world of increased choice, +1 will enable licence fee payers to have even more access to our broad range of programmes every day."

Full details on when BBC One +1 will launch and how it will be made available to licence fee payers will be confirmed in due course.

Yes they should
but again years to go.

The BBC works Slow

For Example if you are on
BBC1HD breakfast in the morning
when your local news comes on
you get a Annoying Red screen telling you
to go to 101 etc.

For now they should put just BBC1 London
on BBC1HD until all the regionals get fixed to
that ch.
Thats better than nothing

Its been 2 years so far

Maybe it should be North west news because of them being situated in Salford so it'd be easier.
