How ****ing creepy is this?

It’s yet to be verified by authorities whether it’s a prank or for real, but this video originally posted on LiveLeak about a week ago has some coastal residents feeling very uneasy about hiking Montara Mountain these days.

In the video titled “I made a "Friend" on the Mountain...Wait for it...” a masked individual films a woman walking up a trail on Montara Mountain. From the looks of it, the woman hiking is completely unaware she is being filmed from quite a distance away. The person who posted the video writes, “Just the way I like to spend my time once I'm at the "Peak"...;) I'll upload the rest of the video later…”

“The police and GGNRA park patrol are dealing with the situation and have the video poster’s contact information,” said Pacifica Beach Coalition president Lynn Adams, who says she found the video “creepy and scary.”

“I just haven't heard anything definitive yet from them as to whether this was a prank or if the person is caught or anything. … watching the video really scared me."

It's scaring a lot of people judging by the number of posts on Facebook about it. Brandy Pemerton is "totally creeped out" and it makes her "nervous about hiking alone especially Montara Mountain area." Sue Bliss says it's "creepy and scary" and "always go with a buddy." Kathy Llorente says "it's probably a gag, but creepy is the right word" and Karen Colucci wonders, "Is this for real? I thought it was a joke. The person looks like a woman. So bizarre!"

Adams said she was on the headlands this morning and didn’t see anything but wants to make people aware about the video just in case it's not a gag.


"Please just watch out for each other and try to hike with a friend if possible," she writes in to Patch.

Calls in to the Pacifica Police Department and San Mateo County Sheriff's Office about the video have not been returned yet. Patch will update this story when more information is made available.

The police are not sure if it fake/a joke, but the lady being filmed had no idea about this video until alerted.

That definitely looks, and sounds, like a hoax. But that site, LiveLeaks used to operate under a different name (can't remember it now) and it specialized in the most gruesome videos imaginable, most of the Al Quaeda beheadings were shown on it.
