View Full Version : Why won't the governments of the world admit the truth about UFOs?

Do you think the governments of the world are right to keep the truth from us?
Do you think it would be too upsetting for people to know that UFOs do come to this planet and that they do abduct people whenever they want and there is nothing we can do to stop them?
Or, do you think we can handle that truth, and governments should tell us everything they know?
It makes governments look weak if they told us they cannot stop the abductions I think, and governments always want to look as strong as possible. The governments always want us to think they have complete control. Can you ever imagine the government saying "yes this is happening, and there's nothing we can do to protect you, you just have to accept it".
If Alien abductions are real, and the government can't do anything to stop it, do you think the government should tell us about it? or do you think it's better to just pretend it's not happening?

for the people that don't believe in alien abduction, i'm asking this question hypothetically, if aliens were abducting people, and the government could do nothing to protect people from that....
what do you think the government should do? Do you think it would be right to cover it up? or do you think the government should come out and say, yes it happens, and we can't protect you. we have no way to stop this, there's nothing we can do, and you are on your own.
what would you want your government to say?

If UFO's actually existed, for which there is no proof, just conspiracy theories.
I like to think I have an open mind on the subject of other life in the universe apart from us, to say there isn't other life in the universe is absurd. It's a never ending abyss of space. It's impossible to say there isn't.
I do doubt the stories of abduction but if they were happening I doubt the government would reveal that. Like you've already said, in situations like that, they can't do anything about it.

I see it the same way as i see humans studying animals. Do we go up to a gorilla and say "take me to your leader"? of course not.
If a species is so advanced to travel such distances, and have the kind of technology they have, we must be like animals to them.
We care for animals, we aren't cruel to animals really, we try to be kind and respect lesser species, but at the same time, we are superior and we can be quit cold. and we will do what we want to them, and there's nothing they can do to stop it.
like a cat or a dog going to the vet, they are terrified.
I don't think they are cruel or mean towards us, but they treat us like we treat a cat or dog at the vet. very clinical. We don't want to scare a dog or cat at the vet, but at the same time, we have a job to do, and we have no way to really explain to a dog or a cat why we are doing what we are doing.
Or when we tag dolphins or wolves for scientific studies. we shoot them with tranquilizers, and put a tag radio transmitter on them.

I think Stephen Hawkings once said that if there are aliens, why would we want to meet them? They'd be far too advanced for us; to be able to travel across space when we've only managed a couple of trips to the moon.

if we find aliens who are less developed on another planet, what do you think we would do? do you think we would land in the middle of their largest city and say "hi!", or do you think we'd study them first and even take some of them to dissect and study?
think of what we'd do if we discovered life on another planet. Just look at what we do when we discover new life in the oceans or in the rain forrest. we never say "take me to your leader".

exactly, Stephen Hawkings compared it it to columbus coming to America. He had superior technology, and he had no respect for the natives at all. Just like Columbus and Europeans in general saw Native Americans and Africans as animals, not equals.

Yes but the native Americans all knew about it though. If it happened here surely we'd know about it, why would only the world governments know about it? Why wouldn't they just swoop by during the day pick someone out of a crowded street like picking a fish out of a shoal?

Well i think they are more clever than Columbus, at least i hope so.
but i don't think they are as invisible as you are saying either. i think we do have lots of witnesses and radar evidence. I think we do have lots of evidence that they are here.
The chicago O'hare airport sighting was amazing, had hundreds of witnesses, radar evidence. If you have the government and media covering it up, they can be hidden in plain sight.

Well why do we try to not disturb animals natural habitats when we study them? because if we influence them it sort of ruins the study. Just like when we study animals in nature, we do try to not disturb them. We don't do a perfect job, but we do try to not disturb them as much as possible.

You put forward a lot of really logical theories Alex, I'd never really thought about aliens in that way before, I suppose because our entertainment industry likes to characterise aliens as savages or being exactly like humans but with a different, but similar, appearance. I think if there were aliens visiting the planet and the governments of the world knew about it, it would be covered up to keep the planet calm.

This was a very interesting case. 62 school children in Zimbabwe witnessed a landed craft and it's pilots. make sure to watch til the end of the video, they interview the same children as adults over a decade later. They all stick by the same story.

If aliens do visit earth/abduct people it's clearly not happening on a big enough scale to panic about.
Didn't one of the guys who went to the moon say that aliens had a spaceport on the dark side of the moon and that they were 'warned' off it?
Personally though in my opinion I believe that if there were extra terrestrial species within traversable distance to earth they would probably have a colonial attitude towards us and we'd be in big trouble.

I think it's safe to say that there are countless planets in this galaxy alone that are host to life as intelligent / more intelligent (and more advanced) than we are... however, I personally don't believe that aliens have or ever will visit Earth (nor will humans visit worlds with intelligent alien life), because I strongly suspect that FTL (faster than light) travel is physically impossible. So all of these intelligent lifeforms will be confined to their own little corners of the galaxy, never having contact with any of the others... well, except those who are lucky (or unlucky I guess?) enough to have an alien neighbour "next door", within the same solar system or in the systems of the closest stars that would be possible to reach fairly easily at sub-light speeds.
Anyway... HYPOTHETICALLY they would probably be better to keep it from most people. Most people don't even like to face the uncomfortable truths of the world as it is outside their own little bubble (family, work, friends). Most people don't even "want to know" when it comes to domestic politics... certainly not global concerns... so, they definitely would prefer to stick their heads in the sand when it comes to extraterrestrial matters.
Then again, considering that, they might as well make the information easily "findable". THen those who want to know will know, and those who don't want to know will go on in ignorant bliss / pretending that it isn't happening... as they do with anything else that doesn't "fit" in their comfortable mindset.

I don't think they would, "faith" and (to be blunt) habitual selective blindness are built into religion from the ground up. If they hadn't seen it with their own eyes (actual aliens and ships) they would claim that it was a lie / hoax / it didn't happen / false evidence was planted by God for unknown reasons (I have heard 7-day hardcore Christians claim that Dinosaurs were around a few thousand years ago, and that God deliberately made it SEEM like fossils are older, for... some reason??).
If it was indisputable that they were really here, their ships were in the sky, and they were talking to people then they would go for the second fallback: that God also made the aliens and that any meddling they did with our DNA / hand they had in the creation of humanity was part of a plan set in motion by God, so really, everything is the same. You'll see this in the "Scientific Christians" who do believe in evolution and that the Earth formed over billions of years. They simply "reinterpret" (read: alter) the meaning of religious texts to suit, so all of a sudden the 7 days of creation are a metaphor, evolution did happen but it's all part of a design set in motion by God, etc. etc.
They'd find a way to warp the facts to make them fit, basically. They always do. You'd probably have a cult or two springing up claiming that Jesus was in fact an alien sent by God to get us back on track.

In the last 100 years cults like Scientology have already started using the universe that we have been learning about as a basis for their crack pot delusions. It's probably likely that as new 'churches' spring up they will attempt to incorporate our new found knowledge of the universe and claim anything derived from it was at the hand of their chosen deity/overseer.

There are more stars in the universe than there are grains of sand on earth. Each star has the potential to house orbiting planets and even if just a minute percentage of those planets are within the bounds of the habitable zone then There is every chance that life outside of the solar system exists.

Each star has the potential to house orbiting planets and even if just a minute percentage of those planets are within the bounds of the habitable zone then There is every chance that life outside of the solar system exists.
It's practically a mathematical impossibility that intelligent life doesn't exist within our own galaxy... and there are innumerable galaxies in the Universe. Although, it's not as simple as saying that the planets have to be within the habitable zone of their solar system; they have to be in the habitable part of the galaxy, too... towards the centre of each galaxy, radiation levels and "cosmic events" are off the charts and nothing could survive... But anyway...
There will be billions upon billions of stars exactly like our sun, and a good percentage of those will be orbited by planets under exactly the same conditions as Earth, so the real question is... why WOULDN'T some of those host life just like Earth does? The idea that there are "no aliens" is insane... there simply must be. There are probably billions of alien species out there, and millions of intelligent ones. Or countless more. There might not even be just one Universe
Although maybe they just mean "visitors", or aliens that have come to Earth, don't exist. Which is probably true.

but you're assuming they would see us as a threat. what if they just see us as part of the landscape. the way we see animals. we don't go out of our way to make animals extinct, and we kinda feel guilty when we do hurt animals, but if we really need something, we don't hesitate to disrupt those animals and take what we want.
We don;'t want to hurt the planet, or the enviornment, or the animals, but we do... Maybe aliens would see humans the same way, we are just part of the universe, and they don't want to hurt us, they might even think we're cute... that doesn't mean they don't ever harm us though, in their pursuit of knowledge and study. if they are millions of years more evolved, they'd see us the same way we see apes. we don't hesitate to study res, even abduct some to put in a zoo. sometimes worse, we perform medical experiments on them after we start breeding them in captivity.

They wouldn't see us as animals, they'd see us as the dominant species and they'd go about trying to change that. It's what humans would do and I have no reason to believe other intelligent life would think differently.
