I would love to, but I'm waiting for a time when I don't have to worry about money.

doesn't really appeal to me so no, there are certain countries I'd love to go to though, just don't see the point of going to every country

Why does nobody on TiBB share the same interests as me. :(

I don't think I would ever have the resources to be able to do something like that.

So long as I get to see the amazon rainforest in person then I will die a happy man.

19-10-2013, 10:08 PM
Nope, brought up in Southern Africa, that was enough for me. Travelled up and down a few times through the Kalahari on the trains sleeping in the tight bunks.

My daughter travels all over, mainly Europe and her stories and photos are enough for me to share.
Something for the younger ones..

I am couch surfing Europe in probably January. I cannot imagine not wanting to travel the world. Very English mentality.

Never Australia though. They have given the world too much bad stuff and the accents annoy me. They sound way too content with their stupid surfboards. Like happy South Africans.

Oh my god I am a racist.

I want to visit

1. South Korea :amazed:
2. Japan
3. China
4. Canada
5. Brazil
6. Australia

In Canada, specifically around the Yukon area. I'd love to get lost in the middle of the mountains... assuming I have a stick to prod at the bears if they start chasing me, of course. ;)

Not travel the world, but after this final year of Uni I plan on taking a break for a year and going to a few Countries perhaps. I'm not really a sightseer though. I go where the sun is and enjoy life lol.

I'm a pussy. i wouldn't want to go to any country that doesn't speak english. With my social anxiety it's hard enuf dealing with people in my own language, there's no way i could handle the stress of being around people with a totally different culture and language.

I think being gay also plays a part, i hear the horror stories of how gay people are treated in other countries, and that scares the crap out of me too. It's actually illegal to be gay in many countries.

Canada, UK, Australia, and NZ are the only countries i would like to visit.

I will travel the world for sure! The thought of not majorly depresses me, I can't understand why some people don't want to leave their own country even just for a holiday. I'd go crazy if I couldn't leave!

well it depends on how big your country is i think. you can travel the USA for an entire lifetime and still not see every part. The USA is a continent sized country with a huge diversity of cities and cultures. There are some smaller countries, you can see the whole of what they have to offer in a week. so it definitely depends what country you are talking about.

I really wish more parents would do it. What better gift apart from love and a love of knowledge could you possibly give a child? (this is assuming the turtles are not real and don't take bookings).

I know kids love chlorine and watching their parents get slowly wasted for 2 weeks in the Algarve but the fact that we have this suburban package holiday affliction going on really bums me out.

No I wouldn't now, maybe years ago when I was younger, Infact I nearly did the Europe thing with my friend and her brother they went round on bikes getting jobs here and there for a year but I chickened out. My friend then went on to meet her future husband in a kibbutz in Jerusalem or somewhere like that (hes Danish) they got married then they travelled the world together. now they live in Denmark with two teenage kids.
For me now I have 7 dogs so it would be a bit hard. ive enjoyed my hols abroad over the years though but these days I appreciate this country especially places like Northumberland/York/Scotland/devon

Have you travelled outside the States Alex? Most of the people I met during my time over there hadn't as like you said, you have such extremes within the US there really is no need.

The only time i've ever traveled outside the US was to the UK.

My best friend travelled to Mexico on a senior school trip, she was gang raped there. I asked her if she reported it. It sounded like a stupid question after i asked it.

only London. Was with my mom, i was 15, so she brought me to the pretty boring places, mostly old churches, museums, and touristy stuff like that.

Nah, don't really have a desire to go to alot of the places on the world, I want to feel safe and you can't guarantee that in alot of places, and also the language would be a problem

I'd like to think I'd just go one place then settle there and live there for a bit. Preferably America or somewhere which speaks English

I mean what does travel the world really mean? Does it mean being on every continent or does it just mean leaving your country of residency and going to x number of different countries in your lifetime? I'm lucky enough to have been to quite a few different countries but my interests in world geography are limited to Europe and Eurasia. I've been to Orlando, Florida when I was a child with my family but I've no real ambition to go to the USA or the rest of the American continents. I don't want to go to Australia or New Zealand or Saharan Africa or the Maldives etc...

yea, i understand what you mean. We all have our own personal interests.

When i hear "travel the world" to me it means someone who wants to go to as many places as possible, and see as much as possible. That's definitely not me. I think everyone has their own passions and interests, and for some people they just want to see EVERYTHING. My interests are definitely much more focused, i don't need to see everything.

I can appreciate other people's desire to travel, but i don't share it.

That being said... I have no desire to do what he did, but i do find this video very inspiring...

Yeah I mean I don't want to go to every country in the world, to me it's the same mentality behind needing to collect every Pokemon card or something. It's obsessive. I have specific interests and while I love travelling, I want to travel to the places I want to see. I lived in Germany for a year and I didn't even get to see half of what I wanted to, and I did a LOT of travelling. I'd rather spend money on going to Germany multiple times to cover everything I want to see than spend money on going to every single country in the world just to say that I've been.

Haha, it's what I always think whenever people talk about wanting to see the world... because unless it's a small nation, you can't even go to any one country and say you've experienced all it has to offer... like you wouldn't go to New York City and say that you've "seen America", because it's such a diverse place.

the key to a good road trip is a good friend, do you have a good friend to do it with?
