The baby with the red hair isn't maria but another blond daughter who has had her hair dyed red like marias was, you can see it growing out on the pics of when she was first found.
It seems highly likely that the woman saying she is their mum is... She looks nothing like her kids either though it's a wonder nobody thought the same of her? :/
