Have a new printer, Long story short, its being *********.
Yesterday it decided that my magenta cartridge was empty, despite it being a new (epson) cartridge. Got another today and its accepted it. But now its decided to stop using the black ink..which is also full. So everything I print is either coming out bright pink or bright blue :bored:
Nozzle check thing it only showing pink, yellow and blue. No black. Tried cleaning it 3 times, nothing.
The black ink is coming out every now and again but in dollops on the side of the paper rather than where its meant to be :conf:
Any help?
Cant even check on the epson site either, because they reckon the model I have doesnt exist :bored:

Have you wiped the chip with a clean dry tissue?

All Epson cartridges and compatibles have a printed circuit chip on the end, if the chip can't be read, i.e. you put a fingermark on it , the printer will reject the cartridge.
Don't use baby wipes, but you can just breathe on the chip.

From the Epson Help page:
Wipe the green Intellidge Chip on the cartridge that is not recognised.
While we generally recommend not touching the green Intellidge Chip on the cartridge, wiping it with a dry, lint-free cloth or dry paper kitchen roll may resolve the issue:
Take out the unrecognised ink cartridge.
Wipe the chip with a dry, lint-free cloth or dry paper kitchen roll.
Repeat this for any ink cartridge that was indicated as not recognised.
Check the chip contacts within the ink cartridge holder for any debris or dried ink and wipe with a lint-free cloth if necessary.
