hi guys.. i haven't been on here in a while (feels good to be back) Ok so I know that the house will remain in elstree for another 5 years or so, but from what i read the show itself has not been renewed and that the last show in its current contract is summer 2014. so is it axed?

Pete.

Tbh I hope they don't renew it so channel 4 can reclaim it and fix it up, C4 probably regretted axing after it this summer

It's not been renewed yet, but it's not been axed yet either.

The C5 boss has said that there's a 'good few years' left in Big Brother and it's still the channel's highest profile show so a renewal is almost certain, but both previous contract announcements have occurred in April, so it may be a while before we hear anything

Channel 4 might bid back for it... who knows.

I'd be very very shocked if Channel 4 took it back, it most likely only has a future on Channel 5 from now on.

They would - the last house renewal in September 2010 came seven months before Channel 5 announced they'd bought the rights, during which there was at least one breakdown in talks

Channel 4 will never take BB back.

NEVER.

They struggled this year but their rating and jumping back up again.

NEVER.

They struggled this year but their rating and jumping back up again.

It would be very embarrassing for them to bring it back after holding a funeral for it... even if their ratings dropped even lower, I couldn't see them going anywhere near the show ever again. They've moved on.

Tbh I wouldn't care too much if it got axed forever. The show has clearly had its day

It won't go from C5 for a long time big brother is C5 golden show that gives them the best ratings and it beats C4 nearly every episode so I would not start worrying about it being axed and also people have to exsept that it is on a new channel and stop begging for it to be back on C4 I have grown to the C5 editing and the ratings are improving every year so I don't think the show will die out.

Cant see much difference if it went back to C4 tbh
It was beginning to get tacky towards the end of its time C4 so it's not like it would go back to the old days

^ they only did that because it was the last series
but anyway the quality would be much higher regardless

C4 always has higher ratings towards the end of the year, as this is when they usually show all their comedy programs (plus this year they've got several new shows). Come next summer ratings will dive down again for C4.

They will never take back BB. While they have lost ratings, they will see that BB hasn't got high ratings on C5 so in their view it would be a waste of money. Big Brother is now just suited for Channel 5. The ratings are satisfactory for the channels needs and they've established a new BB brand.

I doubt it will be axed next year. Fingers crossed C5 renew it for a 4-5 year run - then that will probably be the final years for BB.

i think you are right - ch4 needs it back and 24 7 we need. no manipulation.

Like others have said. It would be way too embarrassing for CH4 to ever take it back.
I think it'll be on CH5 for a while yet and we just have to accept that it is manipulated to f, the editing style is camp as f, Marcus is as annoying as f and we'll get hundreds of CBB's every year.. :idc:

So there's no chance for Ch4 again? :(

What difference does it make what channel it's on? The show would be no different, Endemol would still be making it.
