For example
If I buy direct from China
50,000 UK Radio Controlled Clocks
with alkaline batteries (use by 2022).
Quality sealed in a pack,
I pay one total bulk block price.
I then make a profit on them
after selling them to traders.
Per Unit after tax ,my profit would be £3.
Now that is Very Fair.
I have to Temp Store them
after collecting them from the port.
Then trade them.
Profit is needed as it keeps you trading
I hope some of you can understand this Logic.

So what is the cost of 50,000 units including Import Duty?
You should go all out and do a Wall Street 2 : Money Never Sleeps inspired costume for Halloween.

So many call profit Evil
that is wrong.
Profit is Normal and Needed.
For Example Walmart Worldwide
make a large profit
and are still expanding.
That is Fair.

that you do not put public
But the profit must be £3 per Single Unit
after all tax etc
Thats the point profit is needed
for Traders to carry on trading.

That is a non answer, one has to know the unit cost before applying a mark up.
£3 per unit as a profit at wholesale level is absurd unless the unit COST is higher than £30.

I can source Radio Controlled clocks from China at prices ranging from 50 pence to £4 F.o.b
To put an excessive profit margin of £3 EACH would price them out of the market!

Lidl sell them at £4.99
but they buy them
in 500,000 blocks or more
My Model has a longer use by Alkaline battery
which means traders can sell over a longer time

That's rubbish and you know it, you can buy a radio controlled alarm clock now in Lidl or Aldi (and consider THEIR buying power) for well under a Fiver.

You just said more or less the same thing arista... You buy a block of 50,000 walmart buy a block of 1,000,000... this changes everything, buying cost, import tax, transportation costs and the selling price.
Therefore not comparable.

traders in turn will want a discount for buying in bulk, add transport cost's and you would struggle to make any profit.

There isn't anything wrong at all with making profit and making profit is a good thing, indeed even a great thing.
It is however, particularly with excess profits, what is then done with that profit.

Profit is essential for a monetary system to survive. sadly we have destroyed the need for healthy competition and created a load of cartels, monopolies and price fixing which has and will again destroy r economy

Yes profit is good nobody has ever suggested otherwise that I can see. Profit made by exploitation of workforce and manipulation of customers is an unethical way to do business however.

everything we do is for profit its like the other topic its human nature.
you buy then sell to make a profit to live. you work get wages your profit is your self worth and what you do with your money whether its buy a house or feed your kids which is your profit for the future
hey even love is for profit. people arn't together just for love its also what they can get out of it i,e profit. thats why when ask people its always must have a car job house etc etc , everything is for profit in some way no matter what you do.

Of course profit is good.
My problem is when profits continue to grow and grow, whilst costing the consumer ridiculous amounts of money (gas/electric) or while the business exploits its staff (tesco/other workfare takers)
I also feel that if a company is making billions in profits, they should pay above NMW.

Exactly - obviously profit is a good thing for a business, and for the economy, or at least, it should be... because the profit should either be reinvested in improving / expanding the existing business, or passed down to the workers who are making it a successful, profitable business through increased wages.
Unfortunately, and increasingly, excess profits are just used to line the pockets of fatcat owners, CEOs and shareholders whilst the workforce are paid minimum wage and no effort is made to expand the business or create new jobs. That's the sort of "profit" that people (rightly) have a problem with.

very true arista. I think some people are just jealous of rich and successful men like you and I
and my good self too sir lol
the utilities SHOULD ALL BE NATIONALISED, PERIOD. THERE IS NO COMPETITION in this market at all, its a monopoly. much of the work is paid for by the state still, all the companies too is cream the profit off the top. same with trains , £50 billion on this utter nonsense electric trains scheme to get from Manchester/Liverpool/wales/ etc to London 15 minutes quicker?
all that's about is paying for the infrastructure which then allows the private shareholders of arriva trains to cream off billions more profits. its is plain disgusting and 50 billion theft by any other name
