I am bit scared but very exicted at the same time! , I only was only 2 years old in 1987 one, I don't remeber it. I heard most street windows was blow out, every garden fences went down, no one it was up rigth!

There also another storm 1990 The Burns day strom, again I was only 5, I don't even remember that one either!

Monday 28th october will be a Day to REMEMBER! Just like 1987 one! (I am hoping it not as bad but it could more like Burns day strom that hit in 1990!

O

I am not working on Monday, my work place as closed for that day!

There's some cheap cages and hutches at home bargains and amazon :D I've got one for outdoors but it works indoors. Or you can just get a rabbit 100 cage from Pets at home or amazon which my guineas are in, good quality too.

If its true my living room windows are ****ed they are single glazing and are not being replaced to double glazing for 10 days plus I live on a tree lined street with lots of building work going on in most houses so bricks and debris everywhere.

Its literally the worst possible situation!

I'm in South Wales, just slightly more West than you are. Nothing will happen to your windows. We arent talking a nuclear blast. Windows in this country are more than capable of dealing with a bit of wind, double glazed or otherwise. If they werent safe to use they would be illegal.

If it does get 80+ mph (which I doubt) the safest place you could be would be in your house. The danger will be to the people on the roads. The winds right now are 40mph here, and unless you look out the window you wont even notice it.

The worst storm for more than five years is expected to arrive in the UK tonight.

Winds of up to 80mph are forecast, along with very heavy rain.

The storm will develop over the Atlantic during the day and is expected to hit the south-west late tonight, before moving north-eastwards across England and southern Wales. It is already causing very rough seas along the south coast.

Prime minister David Cameron has chaired a meeting with various government departments and agencies to co-ordinate a response. The extreme conditions could lead to severe flooding, disruption to travel networks, and fallen trees and power lines.

Here is a round-up of all the latest on what is being called the 'St Jude storm', after the patron saint of lost causes, whose feast date is on Monday

An amber warning, meaning "be prepared", has been issued for the southern half of England and the southern half of Wales.

A yellow warning, meaning "be aware", applies to rest of Wales and England up to the border with Scotland

Flooding

The Environment Agency has warned of surface water flooding across most of England. Around 20-40mm of rain could fall within six to nine hours overnight..

A spokesman said: "We are supporting local authorities who will respond to any reports of surface water flooding. Seafronts, quaysides and jetties should be avoided due to the risk of overtopping by waves and wind-blown shingle."

Winds

The first strong winds are likely to hit south-west England on Sunday night, with gusts of 75-80mph. The storm is predicted to then move north-eastwards, with winds of 60-70mph in the Midlands and East Anglia. Northern England and North Wales could see winds of 50-60mph

This one will need to keep a good eyes on as it's very deep low pressure, also like St Jude storm last month, this storm is called Emily, which is making way very slowly toward and getting deep the longer it takes

which will hit England next week from 18th-20th December, most of england will be effected by storm

As gales force winds up 70-90mph or even high on Heel, Enough bring down trees and powerlines and some bullding might get damage.

If put yout Xmas light or decroations outside the house, , your santa might end up in some one eles living room.

This really early, as soon i found more info, I post!

It was a 1997 very limited edition one with 2 little analogue white dials which I can't even pull a picture of. But now worth 3x the £100 it cost way back then.

I'm disappointed this thread is not about my rare watch :-(

I was travelling on the train home from London yesterday and we had several delays due to flooding. This meant my journey was an extra half hour long.

There's been heavy, heavy winds and rain here but nothing OTT. Just a few bins sliding around and fence panels taken up.

Few rumbles of thunder this morning too but feel very lucky as it was forecast to be much worse.

The ITV1 London Weatherman
said the Arctic Polar Vortex that is freezing North America
is due to come over here , but it will warm up a bit
as it flows on the Jet Stream
so no snow.

We had a leak yesterday coming from the roof, reckon it was because of the wind angling the rain towards this flat roof on top of the back of our house 'cause of where it was coming in
