Has it ever happened to you that you are asked if if you are over 18 or 21 when you buy alcohol. In the last year it has happened to me 3 times. Once I was I was in Superquinn, when it was clearly a joke, (I think), and the the other two times was a bloke in Lidl, and a girl/woman in Aldi, both of which times I had a grey beard, cos I'm a 48 year old man. You see, when I was the age of majority, (as it's called), my age was always questioned. In pubs, in off-licences, in work. 18. But I was demanded ID when I was more than 10 years above that.
I'm 48, and at the moment I have a grey beard, cos I haven't shaved, and yet for the 3rd time this year a tiller person has asked me if I'm over 18.
What's going on? Is this a hackneyed joke? Or am I, grey bead and all, just so young looking?
Aldi and Lidl have notoriously strict ID procedures. It's no biggie. Just look at it from the employees point of view. They let you buy booze without asking for identification and their floor manager could be the biggest prick under the sun watching them like a hawk.

Last time I was asked for ID in Asda I was 28. I was so shocked for some reason when asked my age I said I was 23.

I don't actually get ID'd that much tbh when I go out unless I've shaved
In fact I get ID'd more on public transport to prove I'm under 19, kinda ridiculous really

It could just be a new cashier being watched by his/her supervisor who has told her to ID absolutely everybody. Wouldnt worry about it.

Could be, but I've always had this problem. Chucked out of the pub among my friends, when I was the same age, called a boy in work, when that meant apprentice. Lots of stuff like that. I should be flattered at 48, but i's still a sore point.

It happens a hell of a lot to people that are even older than yourself http://lmgtfy.com/?q=pensioner+asked+for+id+buying+alcohol
I mean who in their right mind would ask someone in their 70s for ID?

I'd have lots of things to talk about.
Number One of which is the denial of Conspiracy Theories. Don't you know the number of crimes on the statute book? No? Neither do I, but hundreds of them are "Conspiracies". The Guy Falks plot was a "Conspiracy".

Took a left turn, unrelated to "Age".
I suppose I should have started a new topic.
I'll never forget this one time I got I.D'd buying razor blades from wilkinsons. The lady said it was in case people bought them to use for harming people. they were Gillete Fusion blades, I said to the lady "no offence, but if I was going to go around slashing people I'd buy cheaper razor blades"

Are there respondents here with strong opinions about conspiracies?
I've taken a keen interest in 9/11, Kennedy, and, I think the woman is called Kate Houdes, an employee of the World Bank, who was arrested in her workplace by the Attorney General, for whistleblowing.

Yesterday, 30th October, 2013, I was watching Max Keiser on RT (Russia), and he was damning the AG of America, later I saw on Youtube an employee of the World Bank describe her abuse and overreach of power, by the same Attorney General, because she questioned what was going on. The US AG, a puppet of Govt. and big business, had her arrested. He over reached his authority, to enter into the World Bank, and have New York cops arrest this woman. She is a principled and determined woman trying to uphold the mission she was employed to do, and to report corruption. She got taken out of the World Bank in New York,, by New York Cops, and was charged with "Trespass". What a farce!

She was a higher functionery in the World Bank. She blew the whistle over corruption. It's very complicated, but it starts out with Paul Wolfowitz, he had a ***** habbit which he was charging up to the WB. He was in the running for a very senior post, but his habbit got in the way. I think the scandal was how he was using the WB to pay for it. Anyway, he wanted this job, and the agencies of the US govt. he worked for threatened to blackmail other members of the World Bank with using the same "Madame", if he didn't get the job.
I think her name is Helen Judes, but that could be wrong. I only watched it last night on Youtube.

Basically, this senior employee of the World Bank charges that there is 140 individuals or enities, in charge of 40% of the world's money, and 60% of its assets, (or vice verse). She is credible because she has worked in the IMF and World Bank.
I work at tesco and we have to ID basically anyone who isn't over 80, they're so scared of losing their licence.. some people get angry when you ask

I've just looked up Wiki, and the establishment stooge who occupies the AG job of the United States is Eric Holder. The same guy who sent his police force into the World Bank in New York to remove the Hudes employee, who was whistleblowing on corruption. Karen Hudes.

Look up Karen Hudes on youtube, and bear in mind her reference to the Atorney General of the United States, Eric Holder.

About 70?
The night before last I heard the name Eric Holder, twice. Max Keiser, and Karen Hudes. One on TV, one on Youtube. Keiser was asked if Holder was stupid or corrupt in prosecuting the Goldman Saachs and JP Morgans'. Hudes recounted how she, a whistleblower, was arrested and dragged out of the World Bank in New York, by order of Eric Holder, spuriously for trespass, by the NYPD under order of AG Eric Holder.
Holder is dormant where financial corruption occurs, and alert suppressing whistleblowers.
