I went to a private boarding school so there were oodles of Chinese kids, and they told me that teachers have free reign to do whatever they want to students, and when the students come over here they get treated like **** by the teachers.

Jesus.

In the UK do you guys also call your brain your "noodle"? i've only ever heard teachers call it a noodle. "Use your noodle!"

I guess it makes sense though cause a brain does look like a bunch of noodles in a bowl. all the squiggly lines.

An extreme example of the glorious results of instilling an unshakable belief that "one must obey authority figures" into a child. All across the world, every day, kids are afraid to say no to all sorts of "orders". Obviously, not usually on this sort of level... But when is the human race as a whole going to wake up and start teaching its children critical thinking and autonomy, instead of forcing them to be a mindless drone from birth?

Oi teacher! Leave them kids alone!
All in all, we're just another brick in the wall.

The teacher was probably just using hyperbole and said something like "if you don't finish this assignment you might as well just throw yourself off a building" (meaning you're gonna be in big trouble) and the kid took it literally.

The teacher wasn't standing with him telling him to jump off the building.
