Literally every Spar in Southport has become a One Stop, and we have a lot of spars. It's quite weird and mysterious, and it means that we have mini tescos EVERYWHERE now.

Is this happening to anyone else's spars?

I think I've seen a OneStop but never connected it with Spar.

I've never seen Spar in my life, I'm guessing it's probably some stupid irrelevant shop which is more prominent in the North, don't think there even is one here

Not a Northern thing, there's quite a few down here, tend to be pretty expensive though and generally quite small corner shop type places

i've never heard of it either.

If it's the biggest food store in the world (that means it's even bigger than McDonalds, KFC, Burger King) why haven't I ever heard of it?

It's Dutch :amazed:You are, of course, right - I first came across them in Germany and thought that Spar meant Save (as it does in most Germanic languages) quite why it had a stylized green tree as a logo escaped me until I found that Spar in Dutch means Spruce! hence the logo.

They're really popular in Europe, they have hypermarkets called interspar:

That's what our One Stop Shops are too^^^^

But yeah I thought everyone would know what the spar was

Most of our spar stores have now been taken over by co-ops/scotmid.

There's a tesco opening right next to our local Spar, they aren't happy about it and there have been protests but that didn't stop anything, can't see Spar lasting much longer here even though they've been here since I was born I think

Eurospar is still a pretty massive country european wise though they'll be alright
