Joan Rivers has accused Miley Cyrus of being a bad role model.

The comedienne said that Cyrus's recent antics were not appropriate for her fanbase

She told OK: ''Enough! That girl is disgusting. She should know her audience, and her audience is 17-year-old girls!"

Rivers, who has 45-year-old daughter Melissa Rivers, added: "'I would never have let Melissa go to a concert like that at 17 years of age.''

Meanwhie Melissa, who co-hosts Fashion Police on E! with her mother and Kelly Osbourne, praised Britney Spears for her lifestyle change since having a breakdown in 2008.

She said: "I think everyone wanted her to survive. I mean, she went so dark and so low, and it's nice to see someone pull out of it and become much smarter about the way she's living her life.

"She's being really smart now.''

Joan added: "'There has got to be authority figures and people who have checks and balances on these young kids, especially since things have become so out of control with the internet.''

Joan has previously described Adele as fat and made jokes about Angelina Jolie and Taylor Swift.

..Miley aside, Joan has made a great living out of her humour which has been a large part to do with others physical appearances...and at one time I found some things she said quite funny but I think to be convincing and not a bit of a 'laugh' yourself when you say these things, you've probably not got to be so self absorbed and insecure in your own physical appearance..otherwise it comes across as bitterness rather than humour....

I've seen him on plenty of Aussie shows, he's not funny. he did the aussie version of that music quiz show you guys have in the UK, i forget what it's called. the one with the guy from the mighty boosh.

He's the poor man's version of the guy that does Gruen Transfer/Planet. I've also seen him on some Melbourne comedy festivals, they have these fake debates, and he's been on a few of the panels.
