[Gunmen have attacked a wedding convoy
in Nigeria, killing more than 30 people
including the groom.
Islamic militants were blamed
for the ambush on the notorious
Bama-Banki road in the
northeastern Borno state.
The road runs alongside forests
which are a known hideout for
members of the Boko Haram terrorist group.]

Public should leave that nations for events
its just not safe in that warzone

That's scary.. Nigeria's a volatile country, was the wedding connected to the oil industry in some way or was this a totally random murder?

I hope my brother in law never goes back.. It sounds awful! The journey from the airport to the compound he stays in meant travelling with soldiers armed with machine guns, plus an armed truck both behind him and in front. The compound he stays in is high security with armed guards surrounding it 24 hours a day and he goes to work in a helicopter. **** that ****! I can't wait to see him home safe, so can't imagine how my sister feels!

Urgh that's awful! I don't think I would go work in Nigeria, not for any money in the world, way too risky... he's a brave man!!
