Ivd been listening to this all day and I have to say, it's rather quite good. If you like his voice then you'll really enjoy it.

Stand out tracks that could be singles

Is This Love?

I was surprised to like the album tbh. Solid enough debut.

They all suck. All X Factor contestants put out ****ty music so I don't get my hopes up. Only Shayne, Diana and Leona have had good albums or songs

It's alright from what I've heard. He isn't dethroning Olly as the XF act with the best pop songs though.

Sold less in it's first week than Matt Cardles debut who James has been calling a flop all year http://i.imgur.com/yMANw0f.gif

I'd say the reason it didn't sell that much is because of his bad attitude. It's putting me off him . :nono:

Yes he's slagged Matt Cardle,One Direction and Union J off and a few others who have all done better than him I guess, so I wont be buying his album anytime soon.

X Factor was a much bigger platform in Matt's time than it is now. All of those finalists went on to do something major. Throw in the fact he hasn't wanted to chart off performing on the show, which is something all XF alumns seem to do, It's no big deal.

DW he's performing on XF in a few weeks. Must have realised longevity will be his problem.

He's a knob. You'd think somebody with a massive ego would try and prove why he has one with a stellar album, I gave it 15 minutes, his voice is foul and his inevitable downfall now his album has charted at #2 comes here, I can't see it being top 40 for long.

Good luck to him killing off the rest of his career hopes in the next few months with whoever he wants to Azealia next.

No other act from XF would outsell Eminem...very few artists do :idc:

The thing with James Arthur is that his voice is like marmite. You either love it or hate it.

As a person he's a bit of a tosser but I love his voice

What are the chances that he's mentoring someone this week? I think he won't because of the twitter controversy. :suspect:

His album has flopped to #30 already. Great stuff, not long until the drop, James

What a silly boy. He was doing ok until all the controversy happened.

They'll probably keep him on a bit longer, he has a X Factor slot soon for his next single, so that should do well for a bit longer and he has his tour, after that it's a slippery slope for him unless he realises he needs to stop being a knob and humble himself.

He needs to drop the attitude fast.

I don't expect musicians to be role models but in the age of social media, if you are a complete twat, you will end up outing yourself for the idiot that you are and it will impact on your career. No interest in this guy's career at the moment - if you're going to be a prick then don't expect people to buy your music.

Marc
21-12-2013, 02:34 PM
True but if the music is good I'm gonna listen to it. It can't change how I hear something

That's also true. I still listen to Azealia Banks' music despite the fact she's a complete moron, probably because I liked the music before she revealed herself to be an idiot. James Arthur, on the other hand, I had no exposure to. I didn't watch that series of X Factor and I didn't hear his first proper single until after he'd started gaining a reputation for being a wanker on Twitter. I was exposed to his awful personality before I heard his music, so for me that's my perception of him ruined.

But what if you hear an Azealia Banks song now that you like would that be a different?

Pfft her career's dead. I think I would still listen to it and enjoy it though, if I heard a new one from her and I liked it. Funny that.
