What other names did your parents consider?

Was discussing this with Greg and Linda the other night. My father wanted to call me Dwayne, my mother wanted to call me Miles. They settled on James somehow. :laugh:

I was supposed to be called Michelle, but my mother had a c-section and I had complications at birth while she was sleeping so my father pulled the name "Jessica Louise" out of thin air with absolutely no reasoning, since I needed to be named in case I died. I'm glad anyway, Michelle wouldn't suit me!

If I were a girl I was to be Megan, and my mum really wanted to call me Scott but then my dad intervened. Put her in her place and all that. I think I was named after a speedway driver :/

Since I was the youngest and all my brothers and sisters were named after uncles and aunts etc my parents decided they wouldn't call me after anyone and my name would be either Joseph or Josephine it wasn't until after my birth was registered my mum told my dad she had been a bit sneaky because he had forgotten about her step brother named Joseph (who lived in England at the time) and she hadn't bothered to remind him.

So yeah my name was always going to be Josephine..

I'm adopted and my biological mom named me John. She wrote me a letter explaining why she put me up for adoption, when i was 14 my parents gave me the letter and they tried to scratch out the name, but i could still vaguely see that is said John underneath.


I don't think my parents evert considered any other names, My first and middle names are my grandfather's first names.

I was meant to be called Reginald after my grandfather as I was my dad's first child but my mum, not being a horrible neglectful monster, knew that calling a newborn baby "Reginald" would have been tantamount to child abuse so they compromised and called me Greg (G + Reg) :amazed:

If I was a girl I would have been called Lois. My mum has always loved that name and every time she was pregnant she was hoping it would be a girl so she could call the baby Lois but instead she got three sons :laugh:
