The Music.

I have already starting listening to it, can't wait till they start playing it on the radio. Great stuff.

Probably the day we put our decorations up.. It usually takes a whole day to do it as we go out and get a real tree and my mums collected **** loads of decorations over the years. The food, music, movies and boxing day football are great too.

I like having all the novelty Christmas stuff up everywhere, people complain about it but I like seeing decorations and lights in all the streets and all the shops, Christmas music playing everywhere, all the markets and stalls that get put up, like one of the shopping areas near us has all the streets turned into a German market with live music always playing, a bar in the middle of the street etc. (all pedestrianised streets)

We still get a proper tree as well and going with my Dad to get that has always been a tradition with us, used to like doing the decorating too but these days we get the tree and just leave my Mum to do the decorations. Quite like all the terrible yet brilliant Christmas movies that are on all hours of the day in the run up as well

Basically everything but the day itself lol, the day is hassle

I find real trees look horrible, and are far too messy

For some reason as well I like coming online and nobody is online for one day. I like the peacefulness of it all

Having to jump off the pavement into the road as the kid up the street comes screaming down at about 75mph on his electric scooter.

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs

The Carols.
Slade belting out "Merry Christmas".
All the Xmas adverts.
The Christmas Tree and decorations.
The twinkly lights on the tree in the front garden.
Getting the house all spik and span.
Seeing all our friends and extended family.
The cosy fire and frost outside.
Better still if it snows.
All that lovely Christmas food and treats.

But the best thing by far is having the kids both home and spending time as a little family.

When it gets really close to Christmas, the city closes down one of the streets downtown and ships in truckloads of shaved ice. Everybody lines up to get into this fenced-in "Winter Wonderland" and it's probably my favorite day leading up to Christmas. It might sound really awful and synthetic/fake, but it's the only day in the entire year that it "snows" here.

Decorating is another favorite of mine. Working together to put up all of the decorations and lights just gets me so excited for Christmas.

I haven't been much a Christmas lover the past few years, trying this year though. I love snow, really want it to snow. The coke ad, the grinch film, the soaps on Christmas day, eating nice things and drinking quite a bit of alcohol. I also like how everyone is happy and jolly in Christmas week, makes me want to be happy. Hope I can get a Christmas jumper this year

-The song last Christmas :'(

Seeing people unwrap presents you got them.
Friends coming back home from all over the world.
The decorations (we go overboard and the house smells quite strongly of tinsel and candles).
The build-up to it. By about 3pm on Christmas day there's always that "oh, this is it?" feeling  All of advent's the fun part.
Tins of Roses.
Leftover turkey sandwiches.
Being allowed to get drunk at home without my mum moaning I'm setting a bad example to my brother  (because she does too)
Just that general fleeting feeling of people showing cheer to one another... as a Briton I suppose that's rare but it does make it nicer when it does happen.
Oh and getting ridiculously comfy socks/sweaters.

Making dinner with the family
Finding everyone their gifts
Playing games with the extended family
The Doctor Who special
Sticking BBC One on in the background in the morning, with the fire on, lying on the carpet, examining the gadgets I've been given
Watching "The Snowman"
