anyone been or been invited to go? or anyone have any stories of people they've known who have joined or visited these lodges?
also how come the vast majority don't allow women? how come that isn't illegal?

My step dad was a member for about five years or something but left a few years back, he would never explain to me what it was about though and joked that 'if I told you I would have to kill you' :suspect: and having researched it since I still don't get it

There is nothing really secret about the organisation, there have been many books written detailing the rituals etc. one was called "Darkness Visible" and is probably still available.
Women have their own organisations like the Order of the Eastern Star or OES.

Grown men meeting in darkened Halls to hop about on one foot whilst wearing a hankie on their head ? Then meeting up with other men and whilst shaking hands one finger moves to touch a part of the hand to signal "masonic identity"...!!!!
Oh well..........whatever floats your Boat !!!!!
