Tamera Foster has caused upset backstage at The X Factor after allegedly receiving ‘special treatment’ from show staff keen to ensure she wins.
The 16-year-old singer – in Nichole Scherzinger’s girls’ category – fell into the bottom two last weekend but was saved with Kingsland Road going home instead.
But it’s caused a panic among backstage staff who don’t want to see her head home as Simon Cowell has openly admitted she is his favourite.
This hasn’t sat too well with the other judges – Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne – as backstage sources claim Tamera is having extra rehearsal time, more attention paid to her by stylists and extra help from show minders.
It’s all kicked off backstage this week for the first time. After Tamera was in the bottom two last week, a lot of people close to Cowell realised there was a serious chance she could get the boot,’ a source told The Sun.
‘They don’t want to let that happen so have been going to extra lengths to make her comfortable. The feeling at Syco is that the only contestant with a chance in hell of becoming a pop star that could sell records is Tamera.’
The source continued: ‘At the end of the day it’s down to the public to decide who should be voted off and who should win the show.
‘Right now, Tamera hasn’t connected with the public — a lot of people don’t like her attitude.’
But it’s also led to the other hopefuls fearing ever being in a sing-off with Tamera, with the source saying they feel it’s a ‘save Tamera at all costs’ situation.
An X Factor spokesman said: ‘All contestants are given the same rehearsal time and Tamera has not had any additional time or been given any special treatment.’
