The rain on a day at home.

Instrumental jazz or music so my mind can escape.

silence is the best sound.

..the best sound is children singing in their Christmas production..that's when you're not on the inside of the donkey's backside though, then you just want them to finish quickly....

Definitely this one for hate to hear

I love the of sound rain, really heavy rain hitting off the windows or a caravan roof is even better.

The sea, I love falling asleep or waking up to the sound of it.

Cats purring.

I hate the sound of finger tips/nails running along a carpet, I know it doesn't make much of a noise so it's difficult to explain but yeah that.

Also hate that sound foxes make the middle of the night it freaks me right out.

My neighbours cockerel making his usual noise in the mornings.

Next door neighbour when he has his kids over waking me up at 8am on Saturday screaming their heads off, no doubt they will do it tomorrow too

I have that ASMR thing going on so soft whispering, book scratching, wood tapping and things like that give me tingles and really relax me. Only when I hear it on video though, oddly enough. It's like the acoustics aren't warm enough in person.

..I hate any high pitched/loud sound..especially if you've switched the volume up on your laptop because you've been listening to a quieter movie or something and then forget and play a song and it knocks out your eardrum...

I adore the sound of rain

And ones I hate, I really dislike sirens; ambulances, house alarms, those type of ones. And the noise from roadworks.

I hate other people's music, even if it's a song I like. I don't want to hear it coming from anywhere other than my own devices.

When some chav on their learner bike with a crappy little engine, revving up for what seems a life time...

They must feel embarressed if they ever get overtaken by some experienced biker with a massive engine which hardly makes a noise

..I love other people's music, so long as it's not awful music but we have lots of musical events on the local village field and you can just sit out in your garden in the summer and hear it all...the Proms/jazz etc..

Ravi Shankar is the man!

I love Hare Krishna chanting as well. I'd love if there was a big chanting of it on the streets in Cork sometime because I'd love to do it in a massive group. Definitely ecstatic and trance like. All that kinda stuff floats my boat. Okay really pushing the thread a bit but yeah.

Favourite sounds, babies giggling and children laughing.
Rain on the windows, especially in a warm bed on a cold night.
Birds singing in the morning...but not at ruddy midnight.
Country sounds, sheep, cows tractors etc. Steam trains.
Hubby whispering sweet words in my ear:blush:
The sound of my daughters voice whenever she remembers to phone home.
Loads more but it will turn into an essay.

Sounds I don't like.

Anything at all blasting out too loud, be it telly, music or someone shouting.
Neighbours barking dogs or moaning kids.
People arguing over silly things.
Hubby hoovering when I am trying to watch telly:devil:
