Ever buy cigarettes/booze for underage children? Flat-out no or would it perhaps vary on the circumstances, e.g. a group of 15 or so?

The penalty should be a pretty good deterrent.

Nope! People have asked me before and I've always said no and always will. I know when I was younger people bought alcohol for me at a ver young age and looking back it was so bad!

Flat out no....no-one did it for me. I actually got asked the other week. They were outside the shop asking for penny for the guy so I gave them some change then they asked me to get them some cigs.

I wasn't thinking of those products, I was thinking more on the lines of Grand Theft Auto or Dexter.:joker:

For awhile after I turned 18 I done it for a few friends 16-18 like others done for me when I was that age. It was just a thing. Wouldn't be arsed doing it for strangers nowadays though.

Not for strangers or for the sort of kids who make it obvious hanging outside off licenses, if some like 16/17 year old kid I knew asked if I could get them some while I was out I probably would

Every time I go round my local newsagent there's always the one or two hanging round waiting for someone to buy them the stuff but usually tell 'em to do one. Unless there was an entire group of scallies or whatever and I don't fancy my chances with them, but otherwise no.

I've been asked to do it before by a guy, went and did it but I wouldn't do it again - that's when I started walking with head phones in and a pissed off expression on my face if I can see an unwanted stranger is going to approach me (charity muggers, kids outside off licences etc)

I said no but was only thinking of substances when I answered, having read the thread I suppose I'm in "depends on circumstances". I would never buy someone underage alcohol or tobacco... you'd have to be mad, it's not worth being caught and charged :/. Anyway, I was partying at the weekends at 16 without ever having to ask an over 18 to knowingly supply it... life will find a way, and all that.

But, movies and games I would happily buy for my kids. I don't believe in arbitrary age ratings, it's utter nonsense in my opinion. I play the new Tomb Raider with my 3 year old and I think it's an 18 :joker:. She loves it, she often "plays" Tomb Raider herself in imaginative play, running around the house, jumping over the couch, rescuing her best friend (her one-year-old sister) from the bad guy (her mum), heh...

I played games with various ratings when I was younger and got a lot out of it, and we pretty much ignored movie ratings too. And I remember getting to stay up late on Wednesdays when I was 7 or 8, to watch The X Files with my dad... ahh, nostalgia. But yeah I'd guess most X Files episodes are rated 15...

My parents even took me to see Independence Day (a 12) when I was only 10!! WHAT A REBEL!!

if it were my brother's birthday when he was 16/17 and he wanted it, yes

i've done it before for my sister, and it was at home where my mum could see them drink moderation, so it was fine

When I was in sixth form the younger lot used to pay me to buy it for them, so yes. Although now I probably wouldn't be bothered

I was about to say I'd never buy fags for anyone because I don't smoke but then I realised I did for a 17 year old friend a few months ago. I wouldn't again though I don't think

Would only buy alcohol for people I knew, think they'd have to be at least 15/16 though. Like say at a pub for some family event and a relative was underage for example, since some of my cousins used to do that for me. But not a chance for anyone else

Don't smoke and I wouldn't buy fags for anyone I think it is disgusting

Nope, I don't get asked.

And when I used to buy alcohol I always needed id with me, so even if I wanted to I wouldn't be able as I tend to not carry id with me.

But yea I wouldn't break the law like that for someone I don't know.

No. to see kids smoking and drinking is tragic, to see so called loving parents imbuing their impressionable children with their own self destructive addictions makes me sick.....I also think mothers who smoke during pregnancy should be arrested
