Kelly Clarkson has announced she is pregnant with her first child.

Despite songstress Adele allegedly telling her to hold off having kids, the American Idol star took to Twitter to confirm that she's expecting a baby with hubby Brandon Blackstock, after getting hitched last month.

Clarkson tweeted: "I'm pregnant!!! Brandon and I are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever."

Her publicist, Mika El-Baz, went on to confirm the news further, but there has been no official word on when the tot is due.

However, Clarkson did later confirm on Twitter that they "won't know if it's a boy or a girl for like two months".

After being congratulated by the likes of Carrie Underwood and Jordin Sparks, Kelly tweeted: "I can't believe it?! It's so crazy. I'm making a person!"

The 31-year old singer has made no secret of her desire to become a mum, previously telling US writer Ian Drewer: "My eggs aren't getting young! Brandon has two kids and I want two more."

She also said in a radio interview earlier this month: "Everybody keeps saying, 'What do you want for Christmas?' And I'm like, 'I want to be pregnant.'"

Kelly Clarkson and husband Brandon Blackstock are facing a marriage crisis as a second woman has now come forward alleging she slept with and is pregnant by the music manager.

Despite Blackstock’s ex-wife, Melissa Ashworth, squashing earlier infidelity allegations (rather suspiciously, might we add), a second woman (whose identity has been verified by Nik Richie of TheDirty.com) is now alleging that she was involved with Blackstock – and quite a bit more seriously than the first.

The unidentified woman claims she met Blackstock alongside Blake Shelton at an after-party in Los Angeles. “Brandon approached a group of my friends and I and bought us drinks. We all went back to his hotel room and had more drinks. My friends left but I stayed behind,” and yes, she says they slept together that night and is now 5 months pregnant as a result.

As for Kelly, Brandon didn’t seem too concerned when the woman posed questions pertaining to his relationship with the American Idol. His response? ‘She ain’t gotta know. This kind of thing happens in the business all the time.’ The woman does, however, acknowledge that she slept with a man who was, in every sense of the word, unavailable, and says she takes full responsibility for her part in what went on. However, she adds that Blackstock is “complete scum.”

And to those thinking she’s out to make a pretty penny by selling her story, think again. “I don’t want child support or even for myself and Brandon to be together. I just want him to be a man and take responsibility for the fact that he’s got not one, but two children on the way and quit lying about his indiscretions.”

Clarkson and Blackstock have yet to address the rumors, but it seems quite telling to us that neither have released a statement to defend one another from the allegations. Maybe they’re true after all.
