After six years apart, Andre 3000 and Big Boi are allegedly planning to celebrate their 20th anniversary with new tour dates and show at Coachella

Outkast are reportedly in talks for a 2014 tour. After a six-year hiatus, Andre 3000 and Big Boi are allegedly planning to reunite at Coachella followed by a string of further festival dates.

"Multiple sources" have confirmed to Billboard magazine that Outkast plan to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut by ending their long break and playing Coachella for the first time. "All systems [are] go" commented one unnamed source, while another said that there had "definitely been 'some conversations'". Representatives for Coachella, the band and their label have yet to comment on the report.

In the seven years since Outkast's last album, Idlewild, both of the group's MCs have busied themselves with solo work. Big Boi has released two critically acclaimed LPs and is producing at least a portion of the next Modest Mouse album. Earlier this year, Dre and Big Boi finally appeared together on a new song: recording separately, they dropped verses on a remix of Frank Ocean's Pink Matter, a track which features André 3000.

However, there's certainly no guarantee that Outkast ever intend to record a new album. Although Big Boi once predicted that they would return to the studio in 2010, that proposal never came to fruition. Speaking to GQ in February 2012, Andre 3000 said there were "no plans" for a follow-up to Idlewild. "The only thing I can really say is I'm going to get back to having fun," he said, describing a possible solo record. "I'm 36 now, so I have grown-man dreams."

Andre 3000 currently stars in All Is By My Side, the new Jimi Hendrix biopic directed by John Ridley.

Apparently Eavis has already had the headliners lined up for about 6 months. So sadly, doubt they will this year. Can see them maybe headlining other stage like Public Enemy but not Pyramid.

:'(

Although Public Enemy set was probably my favourite from watching the coverage, and that was even without Flavor Flav

Here's a promising development in the ongoing "Will OutKast Reunite?" story. Big Boi posted a handful of photos on Instagram and Tumblr that picture him and André 3000 hanging out in Atlanta on "the old Stewart Ave" (a street that has been renamed Metropolitan Parkway to distance it from crimes that have occurred there). They look happy! Keep on counting down to that rumored Coachella reunion with confidence, for now.

They are the type of act that would headline Wireless Festival, look out for people near London/Birmingham.
