My lovely work colleague is one of the sweetest people I have ever met, we were talking about grapefruit recently (!) and how delicious they are, the next day she brought one in and showed me how they are eaten in Iran (it's just a peeling and knife method where you don't have to eat any of the tough membranes) I also got her a Lush You've been mangoed bath melt (my go-to pamper treat), because she loves skin oils...because work can be very stressful it makes me smile that tiny, thoughtful surprises can go a long way to making such a difference in how you feel about your day.

....hawwww, that's lovely Anaesthesia..(and has made me smile as well..)...all of our work days can be pretty grim sometimes and you're right...these things and having lovely, thoughtful people around us makes all the difference of leaving work with that grim or leaving it feeling that people are pretty great and leaving with a smile/type thing....I have a thoughtful and lovely work colleague as well, well I have many but one in particular...she always has a 'bag of snacks' and whatever you feel you're in need of, she seems to have it...and if you particularly like something and say, oh I haven't tried that before, I must buy these myself...the next day, she's brought in a whole pack of them/it for you...she also gives amazing hugs...:flutter:.(I think her rather large boobs help with that..:laugh:..)....and little 'I love you' texts and such things when you get home and during your evening..there are no non smile and grim days with people like that around you, are there Anaesthesia...

..thanks for that CeeCee..:hug:..I read your link and then followed another link on that site...a really sad read..I don't know how much you read..?..but his killer called the police to report his crime and when they got there, they found a notebook on torture/sex with the various instruments that he had used in the 100plus stabbings/so premeditated...so obviously they took it as vital evidence ..(they thought it was ok to do that because they'd obviously been called out to a crime scene..)...anyways, if he had been tried for 1st degree murder, he would have got the death penalty but because the judge ruled that no search warrant had been obtained first and the notebook had been taken 'illegally', it couldn't be used as evidence of premeditation and was thrown out of court...his lesser charge meant he only served 4yrs in prison for what he did...a seriously disturbed guy...

We finally dropped the $$ to rebuild my husband's 6-7 year old PC build. It was time.

Really grateful today for the fortune we have and that he's happy, safe and sound. We had a few scares recently. Yesterday, found out one of his patients at work who was brought in who had just been released found the officer who had initially brought him in and retaliated by shooting him in the spine. He had threatened to find my husband when he got out, of course... we're used to threats, but it's just close to home...

He worked 72 hours this week and likely will work similar for a few more weeks. Not really getting to see him as much lately. We needed a change of pace and something to celebrate all the time he's put in so we just said **** it and took the plunge ♪ We're otherwise very frugal people.

There's this owl in the park next to my appartment. It's in a tree living its best life and looking at people. Every time I see it it makes me smile a lot. I look like an idiot on the tube because I'm still smiling from seeing this cute little thing on my way to the office.
