View Full Version : I did something embarrassing again
So last December I started working in the HQ office for a chain of restaurants in Glasgow at the weekends, I was replacing this girl (we'll call her C) so we worked together for a few shifts before she left. I have her on Facebook, sometimes like each other's statuses, haven't really seen her much since but she's friends with the girl I work with (N) so still hear about her from time to time.
A while ago, she uploaded a new cover photo to Facebook and tagged people in it, and you know on Facebook if someone tags people in a photo it'll come up like Zee TiBB has tagged Shaun TiBB and 11 other people in a photo? Well, she uploads this picture and there's this name (E) that comes up and I was like huh weird, that's my lecturer's name - turns out it IS him! So I'm like ha weird, so I message her being like "oh E is my lecturer!" and she says they go running together as part of a gay and lesbian athletics club, which is cool. So immediately I'm like  gay and lesbian athletics club eh, interesting  but obv don't say anything to her.
Then she says "don't you think he's soooo cute, I think I fancy him" and because I don't really know her that well I didn't want to be like "OH YEAH TOTALLY!" so I just sort of said "yeah I guess so", then without warning she goes "I have to go now, up early tomorrow for a run, I'll see him tomorrow I'll tell him you say hi!" So I'm sitting there like aw noooooooooooo and frantically message her like "omg don't he'll think I'm a creep" but she'd already gone offline. So I didn't go to his classes for two weeks after that because I was so mortified - the next day he'd made his profile completely profile :laugh2: so he obviously knew I'd been creeping him.
Well...
NOW HE'S MY BLOODY DISSERTATION SUPERVISER :bawling::bawling::bawling: so I've been dodging meeting up with him for months now, we met once in August which was awkward as **** and we've not met up since then and only been in contact once when I had to send him a dissertation plan. Then, last night, C invites me on Facebook to go running with their athletics club and E (my superviser) is invited as well. It's probably not as bad as I think it is but I find it so awkward, he'll be all "so I think you need to change this in your dissertation" and I'll be thinking "I think you need to change IN FRONT OF ME RIGHT NOW  I'VE SEEN PICTURES OF YOU IN YOUR RUNNING SHORTS" Jesus Christ this is not okay help me
that's a big post there zee
Jake.

Apart from me stalking him on Facebook and acting like a 12 year old girl whenever he looks at me, no, none at all Reece, none whatsoever

I don't actually fancy him, I think it's just because C was all "oh heeee's cuuuute don't you think" and now he thinks I fancy him because I bet she told him I fancy him, urgh, she's the least subtle person in the world :bawling:

Why do people put their lives on Facebook?
Why do people put their lives on Facebook?
I have no idea. That's got nothing to do with my post though?

Oh, OK, sorry, I thought it was about Facebook. Guess it had **** all to do with FB

It had nothing to do with posting my life on Facebook though  just that my ex-colleague knows my lecturer/dissertation superviser and she's told him that I fancy him when I don't really and she keeps inviting us to the same events and I don't want to end up being a Daily Mail headline :(
..is it just that you feel embarrassed/don't want to socialise with him, Zee..?..you could explain to your friend that it would feel awkward to see him outside of uni..?..

No because then she'd tell him! She's one of those people... her head is in the clouds and she wouldn't think anything of mentioning "oh Greg fancies you!" or "oh Greg finds it awkward being around you", not because she's horrible or anything, she's just really breezy and doesn't really think about stuff like that  argh

...hmmm, what about if you kill them both..?...
..she doesn't seem to have much social awareness though..?..

I think that's the only way out of this Ammi :joker: or maybe myself...
Yeah she's totally oblivious, so ditzy!

..no, don't kill yourself, Zee..it's only because you're here that I feel as though I have some drama in my life...
..if you leave me now, you'll take away the biggest part of me....

Oh Zee. Zee, Zee, Zee. What will we do with you?
The solution is to organise an appointment with him so you two are alone and then make out with him

It's because Scotland's such a small bloody world, I'm surprised I haven't pulled Josy in a night club yet

Why don't you just add him on facebook and tell him "Hey, C tagged you in a picture before and I asked her if she knew you, she said she goes running with you and asked me if I agree that you are cute, I have been feeling so awkward about it but I don't actually want your babies, sorry."

stop feeling awkward about it. if he's an attractive man i'm sure he's heard you're cute a few times and that he's ahad a few students giving him the eye.
Maybe that girl didn't tell him anything, sometimes there are just some amazing coincidences. I've learned the hard way that assuming is not a good thing most of the time.
