Manchester United footballer Bill Foulkes, who survived the 1958 Munich air crash, has died aged 81.
The Busby Babe, who played 688 times for United, captained a depleted United side to the 1958 FA Cup final where they lost to Bolton Wanderers.
Club executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward said: "Bill was a giant character in the post-war history of Manchester United."
St Helens-born Foulkes played for United in their 1968 European Cup win.
