Another point is the severity of the porn over the years. In the 80's - 90's it used to be videos with goofy plotlines and bad acting now its getting rougher, and harder and more severe. In japan rape porn is very popular and if you didnt know - rape porn is exactly what you think it is. The constant pushing the boundaries made this story inevitable sadly.

What a horrible story, I think Porn is being used as a scapegoat here though, we should be focusing less on the porn part and more on how this can be prevented in the future. Porn did not make this boy do this just like games, books or films can't influence someone to commit atrocities. It's a pointless endeavour to blame an outside factor because it detracts from the fact that this boy is disturbed.

I couldn't imagine what the girl and the family is going through, how do you process something like this?

I think it's perfectly clear what the problems here were.

1. He shouldn't have been able to access porn online whilst at school.

2. He admitted having urges he could not control, that in itself is unnatural, most boys the same age probably have urges but they manage to control them.

If he has uncontrollable urges like this as young as he is right now then I dread to think what he will be like in the future.

I agree with what has been said; this wasn't "caused" by porn at all and this boy is clearly disturbed and violent. It's like when the media blames something like "Grand Theft Auto" for a psycho teen stabbing their best friend 10 times in the chest. Just not realistic. These people are not "normal" kids who have been exposed to something that somehow turned them into an abuser or a murderer... and to suggest as much is completely overlooking the real issues; i.e. why were his parents, teachers, or other care providers not paying enough attention to notice that he wasn't quite normal?
