I got up unusually early this morning and read it on page 2 of the Irish Daily Mail.
We have lots of horses in Ireland. They aren't wild, they are just owned by anyone who can buy them, for a few quid.

Last night, someone poured petrol over such a horse, in Tallaght, where I live, and burnt the horse to death.

I'm turned inside out at the thought of it. I live near enough to call it my doorstep. And I am eaten up inside. Whoever did this has hurt me deeply. I wouldn't hesitate to kill them, I might hesitate if they were mentally ill.

Thankfully such incidents don't happen too often, and they are committed by psychopaths who practice on animals.

they will get away this with barely any punishment because it was an animal, they deserve life imprisonment or death penalty.

I just hope the horse died quickly from shock and heart failure.

I read the authorities took away all vulnerable horses from the area.

For no reason at all? :conf:

I doubt a reason would make it any better. But I have thought of some. The horse was a proxy for its owner. The killer was just a psychopath practicing.

I'm inclined to think the second. The act of a deeply disturbed and dangerous individual, who needs to be put away for a very long time.
