He's a bit of a hit or a miss for me Shaun.. sometimes he's hilarious, but he has his 'wtf' moments too..
But, the show is brilliant.. some nostalgic moments for me with the videogames from the 80s and 90s.

*assumes it's a recent Ghibli film*
*guesses the Poppy Hill one*
but yeah I can see what you mean, he's a bit of an awkward presenter/interviewer (Have You Been Watching, and 10 O'Clock Live are both hit and miss) but when he's just sat behind a panel on his own he's great (the Wipes, that BBC2 thing he did earlier this year, the yearly Reviews) and obviously a good writer (Dead Set, Black Mirror)

I was surprised Sonic wasn't in it. It was massive.

Some of the game choices were a bit odd, why focus so much on the rivalry between those flop computers in the 70/80's but never mention Nintendo and Sega? I'm kind of surprised Metal Gear or Final Fantasy weren't mentioned at all either.

I've just watched it. Some good nostalgia there.
It was good to see Monkey Island getting recognised. This was one of my first avatars on this forum. Might have been my first.

You mean Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum? They were huge at the time.
The PS and XBox of the day. ;)
Final Fantasy and MGS always get snubbed in things like this :bored:

I had a Spectrum, and as they said in the programme the Spectrum users and magazines hated the C64 lol.
But I have to admit now that C64 was techincally better in more or less every way, apart from the price. :p

I learned how to program on the C64.. Admittedly it was crappy programming, but I was only about 10 lol

Was a really good watch, perhaps shocked to see Mario placed so low given how he pretty much brought back the video game industry after the crash

It wasn't a countdown of the best games though was it? They seemed to go through it in pretty much date order, which confused me, what was the point of having a countdown when it wasn't really a countdown

The 'countdown' was pointless. It was supposed to be a chronological journey through the years of video games and how much they've changed since their inception.
