Louis Walsh has got his knickers in a twist over fears The X Factor live final could kill his prized act Nicholas McDonald.

Seventeen-year-old Nicholas suffers from rare heart condition Long QT syndrome which means he could drop dead at any moment.

And although he takes a pill everyday to keep his irregular heart rate under control, Walsh is scared the pressure of this weekend’s grand finale could send him into cardiac arrest.

‘I am worried about the stress and strain on Nicholas,’ said the X Factor veteran.

‘He has this serious heart condition. I worry about that for the weekend, honestly.

Laying it on thick, he continued: ‘There is nothing we can do. He is working really hard — we are just going to give him some time off.

‘I think his family are worried but we want him there in the final.’

Quizzed on just how serious we’re talking, Louis added to The Sun: ‘You just don’t know. When somebody dies, they’re dead.’
