There's 5 hours apart between posts.
Maybe rebranding is needed, because the title is only relevant for a few months a year.
It needs to reach out more.
It needs more cutting edge debate. A site where you can say the kind of stuff Russell Brand says on his Messiah Tour.
Blow away the curse filter. Why do you have to have it? Russell Brand shows that swear filters don't remove objectionable opinions, because nothing he says is un-pc, yet it falls foul of the profanity censor, time and again.
It would be nice if this site was alive with opinion any time I log in.

Go into the chat and games section I'm sure you will find some threads to entertain you Nemo.

"Barely Nobody" is that Irish for "Hardly anyone"?
Nemo123
19-12-2013, 09:18 PM
"Barely Nobody" is that Irish for "Hardly anyone"?
It's not a double negative. Like "almost" could be substituted for "barely", like, almost succeeded, and barely succeeded, may have opposite meanings, but if you substitute almost for barely, it's the difference between narrowly failing, and narrowly succeeding. So, if the site is narrowly failing or narrowly succeeding, it conveys almost the same message.
So, "Barely Nobody" equates to "Narrowly succeeding", which is almost the same as almost failing.

For a start, you ended this sentence with a preposition.
I'm was aware of that before I posted it, so I googled that first,
"Stranded prepositions are nothing to fret about
There are numerous myths relating to grammatical dos and don’ts, many of which were drummed into us at school. The one that stubbornly refuses to budge from my mind is the diktat ‘never begin a sentence with a conjunction such as and or but’. And why not, pray?*
Some of these groundless rules (termed ‘fetishes’ by Henry Fowler in 1926) have a long history. Back in the 17th and 18th centuries, some notable writers (aka Latin-obsessed 17th century introverts) tried to make English grammar conform to that of Latin – hence the veto on split infinitives and also the ruling against the ending of a sentence with a preposition (also called stranding or deferring a preposition).
These and other language myths are amazingly persistent, though, so who you gonna call? Oxford’s Myth Debunkers, of course! To kick off this occasional series, let’s try to zap the one about stranded prepositions and lay it to rest once and for all."
