Steve Brookstein?
LEON Jackson?
Joe McElderry?
Matt Cardle ? - all of his immediate 2010 runners up ie Rebecca, Cher and of course Harry Styles and chums have eclisped him

Matt Cardle is still doing his own thing and is releasing albums so not him I don't think. Joe is doing musicals etc (I think) so It would be between Leon and Steve for me

James Arthur has made a success - he's got industry cred (nme, labrynth, example and pro green back him plus hot producer naughtie boy and emili sande worked with him).
The controversy in long run will boost his career - he's moving away from XF brand.

I remember watching steve's series and I really hated him. Rowetta, cassie, G4 and voices with soul were all better, why do I remember the contestants names :s

Leon definitely it. He's irrelevant, hardly anybody remembers him, he didn't have a hit.
Matt Cardle still does successful tours and just had a top 20 album.
Leon. Obviously Steve wasn't a success either but it was the very first series of the show so there weren't any expectations placed on him - his failures are only really seen retrospectively because he didn't reach the heights that Shayne Ward did the year later, or Leona the year after that... but then you have Leon. The precedents had been set for the winner by Shayne and Leona, so there was no excuse really. It's Syco's fault really - they had a young male winner, they ought to have known better than to push him down a jazzy route, or let him go down one if that's what he was pushing for... I don't think they really wanted him on their books so they let him quietly fail and let him go. I liked Hope in that series but to be honest it was full of no hopers, there wasn't a real pop act among the contestants. Then Alexandra Burke showed them all how it was done the following year... now there was a contestant who had it all together - great singer, great dancer, had a personality (as grating as it could be)... weird that she was just the following year after that frankly crap series where Leon won.

Matt Cardle is doing really well, just because he is not in everyones face doesn't mean to say he is he is not doing well, and of course he hasn't had the promotion of Xfactor since he pulled out to do his own thing, and good on him,he has a tour coming up in 2014 and a great new album out, infact I'de say he's eclipsed a few of them himself albeit quietly.

He has sold almost as many albums as James Arthur and is a lot nicer than him.

Both Matt & Joe have sold like 500k albums & have decent careers, I'd say Steve because i hate him

Leon. At least Steve had somewhat of a minor career after the show. All Leon did was sell a few copies of his winners single and then we never heard of him again.

Overall Steve and Leon. I think overall Leon as Steve is still pursuing his music on an independent label and gigging, Leon has simply vanished.

Steve was voted the biggest flop of reality TV and I had forgotten Leon name until this thread. Joe will end up on some reality show soon but matt is doing OK. Pretty sure in a few years time James Arthur will be added to that list
well apart from the obvious, Steve, then I'd say Leon
but it goes like this; from biggest flop to least
Steve > Leon > Matt Cardle > Joe McElderry or w/e > James > Shane > Little Mix > Alexandra > Leona

Matt Cardle has a really good album out recently Kazanne.
I would say Steve Brookstein really, winning the first series he should have done far better than he did overall.
Leon Jackson has to be the next least successful but he was dropped by Simon really quickly.
He is now apparantly into songwriting and producing,I doubt other than maybe pub performances Steve is almost non existent on the music scene.

LEon
Ar lewasrt Steve gets a mention!
I'd say Little Mix are more successful than Alexandra; they've cracked America and I just don't see the industry turning against them any time soon, they play by the rules and seem like nice people. Alexandra clearly made a few enemies after that radio blacklisting.

Matt Cardle gets better with each album I think Joey ,and that's how it should be, writing his stuff and learning as he goes along,I will never forget that rendition of 'The first time' he did on Xfactor, gave me goose bumps and imo the best version of that song I have heard.I never rated Steve or Leon much,I don't think Sharons hatred for Steve helped him,why did she hate him so,do you know?and Leon I kinda feel sorry for I don't think he was helped much after the show, hope Leon makes his song writing and production skills work for him.
