'Neighbours' star Alan Fletcher is set to star in 'Celebrity Big Brother'.

The 56-year-old actor, who plays Dr. Karl Kennedy in the Australian soap, has landed a six-figure deal to appear on the next series of the Channel 5 reality show, according to The Sun newspaper.

Alan is expected to be popular with the British public because as well as his popular character in 'Neighbours', he has toured UK universities on several occasions with his band The Waiting Room.

Alan's 'Neighbours' co-star Ryan Moloney, who plays Toadfish in the soap, was in the show last year and proved popular with viewers by finishing third behind reality TV couple Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, and winner Rylan Clark, who now co-hosts 'Celebrity Big Brother's Bit on the Side' alongside Emma Willis.

Alan is set to be joined by the likes of boxing heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield, N-Dubz rapper Dappy, 'The Only Way Is Essex' star Sam Faiers and comic Jim Davidson in the 'CBB' house when the new series kicks off on January 3, 2014.

Neighbours star Alan Fletcher is the latest famous face to be linked with a spot in the Celebrity Big Brother 2014 line up.

Alan, who has played Dr Karl Kennedy for almost 20 years in the Aussie soap, is reported to have signed a six-figure deal to be part of the Channel 5 series, according to The Sun.

The 56-year-old was previously a contestant on the Soapstar Superstar in 2007, finishing in sixth place.

Neighbours co-star Ryan Moloney, who plays Toadfish, finished third on last year’s show.

It sounds cynical but I wouldn't be surprised if that's one of the reasons we don't have live feed for this series.

I've got no issue with Neighbours people going in, at least they are celebrities. - I don't watch it and would prefer to see some Home and Away people in it (not that I watch that any more, but I may at least know some of the people in it)
