Rylan Clark has spoken out about AJ Odudu’s departure from Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit On The Side, saying he’s ‘really sad’ to have lost his presenting partner.
Last month Channel 5 confirmed to bbspy that the 24-year-old Blackburn personality had ‘mutually agreed’ to leave the late-night spin-off show after only two series.
Rylan – who joined the Big Brother team alongside AJ in May – has since spoken of his disappointment at the decision, telling The Daily Star: “It’s going to be really sad without AJ. I love her and we’re such good friends on and off screen.
However, he resolved: “But I’ve been given this opportunity and I have to do it on my own and I’m hoping I’ll do as good a job as I did last time.”
The former X Factor contestant added that he’s ‘looking forward’ to seeing how Carol McGiffin does as head panellist on the Saturday psychology-themed show ‘Bit On The Psych’, which will now be co-hosted by Iain Lee following AJ’s exit.
Meanwhile, Rylan – who is now dating former Big Brother 2013 housemate Dan Neal – teased that the launch twist for the new series of Celebrity Big Brother will result in some housemates forming ‘false friendships’.
The show returns to Channel 5 on Friday 3rd January at 9.00pm on Channel 5.

I like AJ - not bad at all :) As for the twist hint -- all I can say is that the hype machine for channel 5 really was in full swing as was the bull**** machine
im sure this 'twist' will be another secret room for 'chosen' housemates which will be entertaining for about 1 day

sad my arse he probably did a Mark Zuckenberg and asked for her to be taken out as he doesn't like to share the limelight.

Rylan will be fine on his own . AJ was good.
He'll be fine by himself actually think it could be better Rylans a great presenter.
Remember Dermot O'Leary used to always do BBLB by himself.
About as sad as Emma was over Brian I bet. :joker:

I never realised so many people loved AJ, all she ever seem to get was abuse. She is well out of if I think.
Ian Lee still in :worship:

AJ had twice as many assets as negatives, sadlly 2 great legs and one horrible gob don't cut it for me. She fluffed more lines and made more mistakes than comfortable and her kiddie presentation skills were so dominant that she looked well out of her depth. She was a bubbly and at times a breath of fresh air but 2 mediocre presenters don't make a good mix. Better one fool left alone to muddle through and hopefully Ian Lee will get a bigger part to play this year. He mixes it up the right way.

Also Rylan, you left the house for X Factor rehearsals, so how did you 'suffer'?
Lostie!

is he really though?
Why not? It's not beyond the realms of possibility that they actually became friends.

lbr if Rylan was unknown like AJ he'd also have been sacked. They're keeping him for his profile not presenting skills.

I doubt this CBB series will live up to the hype http://www.thebritishblacklist.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/AJ-Odudu.jpg
She got better by the end of the series

“...I’m hoping I’ll do as good a job as I did last time.”
That sounds so cocky. :joker: but I do think he's a good host. Iain is great and I wish he was on more often. Only know of Carol through what I saw of CBB and what a nightmarish harpy she was. UGH. Think everyone saw AJ's firing (mutual decision, surrre) very far away. Hopefully there will be fewer callers who want to share love poems and all the hosts will be able to get through the majority of their sentences with little-to-no difficulty. AJ seemed sweet; she just either wasn't ready for the job or suited for it.
I like AJ - not bad at all :) e
I must have watching a different show. :joker: Look, I'm sure AJ is a great person and I wish her well, but she could not even handle the basic fundamentals of TV presenting. I mean you either got to be great with the autocue or be able to assemble a coherent thought if you can't read the script while leading the conversation. She could do neither. She might possibly be the worst tv presenter ever on a national programme. Worse than Bryan Dowling. Worse than Zeze from years ago. And to be sacked after one series, it appears I'm not alone in thinking this.

CBB make the mistake of trying to appear current by hiring people they think will be revered by the type of demographic that watch BB. sadly they are wrong, when all is said and done, a presenter must have a modicum of skill like being able to read an autocue and not to interrupt guests repeatedly with inane adlibs that are about as funny as toothache. She was oiked due to her limited skill set and to give Rylan a chance to grow, a task that I fear is well beyond him.
They would have been better giving Iain a chance as he is confident, opinionated and talks a good game. He might not be that lovable but he is streets ahead of Rylan who seems to be more interested in his own image than his job. AJ had the wrong idea of presenting, its a job with a script not a comedy store experience with giggles at the helm.

This is great news. AJ was cute, but a terrible presenter.
