After reading that Ian watkins from steps has been mistaken for a second time as being that vile paedophile from lost prophets, I feel for him.

There are quite a few Mick Philpott's on facebook and other unfortunate names.

I would consider changing my name if the crime was repulsive. Would you?

Nah, most crimes get forgotten about by the general public
Unless I was named Adolf or something

..no, it's just a name...I would make them change theirs instead...but no, I wouldn't change it...

But sometimes it's not just a name, especially if the case has been covered so publicly and the crime was horrid.

Side note: I hope Ian sues for millions. If Kim Kartrashian can sue because someone videotaped a set up a "private" marriage proposal that they're showing on their show anyway, then ian should sue for this.

..it is just a name though, it was Google who have caused distress by using his pic in connection with something/someone quite evil, so that to me is an issue with Google, not an issue with his name...and maybe that's what he'll do...

..having said that, if my surname was Philpott and I had a son, I wouldn't call him Mick, if that was the name I had in mind before the infamous person..but that would be after the fact..I wouldn't change something I already owned....

If I felt there were enough negative connotations towards it then yes I would.

I probably would. Reminds me, I met a girl called Jessica Ahlba once, felt so sorry for her, people would always ask her "what, like the actress??" and she'd be like "THERE'S AN H IN IT!!!" :joker:

Aye Ian Watkins I think you should change your name to Tit if you feel guilty about your own name.

Not been here for a while, but are there any more deeply thoughtful threats to make us all think?!
