Doesn't this time of the year just do your head in, it does me. We have December which is all rushing around, Christmas, with family and friends, New Year with plenty of drink, then wham straight into boring freezing cold January, and a credit card bill, don't you just love it, what an anti climax. Mind you looking on a brighter note, it does get lighter day by day, and will soon be spring again. Yippie:elephant::dazzler::dazzler::elephant: Lets hope it's a great summer and I can wear my shorts longer than a day all summer.:laugh::thumbs:

I know exactly how you feel steve_o. I am so bored, I just don't know what to do with myself.
I have no money to go out with my friends because it was all spent partying and present buying at christmas. Work looms over the wkd so thats my wkd done and dusted.
And then to top it off, on Monday Im back to school with the warm welcome of EXAMS!!!!:bawling::devil::bawling::devil::bawling:

I know what you mean too, Steve but, as you say, Spring will soon be here.

Today, I bought my first pot of hyacinths (blue ones this year) and am looking forward to seeing them flower and fill my kitchen with their beautiful scent.

I love Spring, I do.

I love my haggis, neeps and tatties on Burns night - eaten after reciting 'To a Haggis' dressed in full Highland regalia (as if!!) and followed by a few 'wee drams'. Lovely.

I don't 'HATE' this time of year but what it brings:

The dark start and finish to every day

The rotten journeys up and down the motorway [M6!] Mon to Fri- YUK.

The being stuck indoors with no playtime day after day. No I don't go out to play but I accompany those that do and have to deal with the horror that NOT going out produces!

I could go on - but I won't.

I wil try to think possitively too.

Spring is coming.....eventually

How can anyone be stressed out by summer?
If anything it should be the horrible wet and windy weather - not the goegeous days on the beach!:bouncy::flower::bouncy:

Why does everyone catagorise Summer as good weather? I think that the cold snow is good weather.

Winter- I love the feeling when you are so cold that you cant feel your fingers and you have your gloves and hats and coats on, then you go inside and its nice and warm and you feel the tingles in your fingers. Going to sleep at night with the covers wrapped snuggly around you. At school with everyone talking huddled around the radiators. Going outside with the rain and running around and getting wet. I love it! Looking out the window at how beautiful the snow is.

Summer- its too hot and sweaty. You cant sleep at night when its too hot. You wear less clothes when its hot showing your body to the world. Believe me thats not a nice sight on me.

I've got to admit I do like winter. It seems I love summer when its winter and vice versa - I want one when Ive got the other.
I do like the cosy nights in by the fire and the hot water bottles in bed but I do love my summer, I always feel so happy in the summer when me and my mates get the BBQ out and go up on the Hoe swimming.
I love them both!:colour::dance::colour:

I'm feeling much happier now March is here. I really do dislike January and February, dark and miserable, Christmas long over and the summer a distant prospect, BUT come March, nights are a little lighter, the sun comes out at least some days, the daffodils and other spring bulbs are coming into bud in the garden and I feel better. Hurrah for March and thoughts of Spring.

My favourite time of the year is Autumn. I love it when the leaves change to those lovely colours.

I must also admit to the fact that I ABSOLUTELY love walking through all the fallen leaves and making that rustling noise. I really never have grown up.

The only thing that beats this is fresh fallen snow when its all crisp and you make footmarks in the virgin snow. Unfortunately not even seen a snowflake this year:bawling::bawling:

I'm with Peachy. I absolutely adore Springtime.

There's nothing to beat seeing those hosts of golden daffodils!!

According to the long-term forecast we are going to have a long heatwave this year.:thumbs::thumbs:

The only good thing about this time of the year is curling up on the sofa in front of a fire with a good book, watching a good programme on the tv, chatting to friends or listening to music. The only thing that makes it complete would be for snow to be falling outside. Ahhhhh
